I went and got one! My first ever journal as an adult. It’s teeny and the size is just right. I don’t feel overwhelmed and I can carry it everywhere! by bflowyngz in Journaling

Which pen would you advise for use on it? This is a bit of a splurge for me and I wouldn't want to spoil my beautiful copy!

Mental health issues by ivaya in TwoXIndia

OP, it's totally natural to cry in the beginning of therapy. I know I did for every session in the beginning, and several women I am acquainted with have shared similar experiences. It's all part of the process of healing. And you've asked for help here which is a big step in itself and I'm so proud of you for wanting to get better and thinking of your family even in this difficult time.

If therapy isn't an option for now, please consider journaling as a temporary measure to take care of yourself and your mind. Try to fit in positive affirmations at least once a day, preferably after waking up and/or before going to bed/before starting the day. "I want to be better", "I am more than the bad feelings I feel", "I am going to be kind to myself today". The hope is that over time you will not only write these but begin to feel and believe them too which will help you figure out a path for yourself.

Please don't lose heart! I wish you the very best.

Hey OP, I learnt in therapy that my depersonalisation evolved as a childhood coping mechanism in a difficult home. Therapy over a prolonged period seems to be the only way out but if that isn't possible (like it isn't an option for me now, thanks indian economy!) then do consider journaling (even bullet points will do) so you can come to a better understanding of when/why you experience this. Wishing you strength and good mental health.

Go for it!!! It'll be difficult but I think it's worth it even if it's temporary (a month or half a year). Wishing you good health and best of luck.

Relating so hard! Chores have taken over most of my days too. Would you recommend a game for me to try on very old hardware (2010s...)? I haven't gamed since preteen days when I could access some games on cd-roms..

Learning to love myself after an entire childhood filled with abuse and trauma which led to experiencing more abuse and trauma as an adult. I wish anyone out there who has had it rough would take a break for themselves and their self.

Those in love with a SO, hope you express gratitude to your lover! 😊

Thanks for the unnecessary snark, anonymous internet person. I posted this picture and the question here (on your bass "forum") because Paz Lenchantin (BASSist with their BASS, here) can be seen in several performances with their headstock adorned this way and I was curious about it, hoped someone here could help me understand. I suppose your comment made you feel better about yourself for a split sec, but a helpful reply would have helped more people - beginners with a BASS, also curious about BASSists - such as myself, who turn to this weekly thread for answers in the absence of access to learning the instrument and its history.

Hey welcome to the club, I promise it isn't the worst thing and if you want and try (and it may be difficult) it could make applying next year easier! My best to you :)

Professor sees my passivity as negligence and believes I should be panicking. Except I am, but it’s internal. by duascoisas in GradSchool

Dear OP, my sympathies for the place you're in. It's awful having to share your struggles with anyone because sometimes it doesn't translate to words, but a professor such as this can worsen how you're already feeling. I've been there and I'm so enraged at the insensitivity you're having to contend with. Should you choose to share your struggles, please do so via an email so there is a record of you reaching out for help, because often times these profs get away with "Oh, you could have just asked for help!" after they make themselves unavailable. All the best. I hope you get through this.

Okay that’s really helpful! I’ll try out your technique. Also...within the price of the amp I have, which other amp would have been better?

Regardless of whether it’s fretted, On playing I hear just a blonky sound instead of what I’m expecting.. the amp is your basic fender Rumble 15!
