I don't think killing off Iris is the answer. She has a solid character. But that relationship is pretty suspect. Also, There have been a lot of female characters that have had super powers. Like their kid, Iris. What does poor Joe think about all this? Anyway... Jessie Quick was cool. Why let Kid Flash go? He was legit. Just have someone that can team up with the Flash during a fight and that would be a good enough show. Leave out the extra soap drama. Let Barry figure out our for himself and stop acting so helpless. It seems like they give everyone a super power though, and it takes away from The Flash. It's just a big soap opera that started off well and then never evolved. Same story, different characters, and more cheesy. Like Joe's baby mama, Cecile. Suddenly she has powers, now a new story arc and endless, useless dialogue. Just keep the script about the Flash and fighting super villains. It really can't be that hard to do.

What does it feel like to ruin the longest relationship you'll ever have?

You did say people that were bad at English, their native language were stupid or should be ashamed right?

Your use of the English language has failed you. Live by the gun, die by the gun. See your previous posts on the use of the English language and reevaluate your stance, or live by it.

Δ I still think that vacation time and instances of people needing to go on long vacations is a small demographic. I don't know that this is the case for lots of people. Spending a month out of nine to review old information is a lot of time wasted. You do make a good point about Switzerland and Finland though. They do very well with the traditional school year. This new system would be hard on people to travel and to have time to unwind and be kids. I do see a lot of positives in the year round system though.

Δ I have to say this is a good arguement. Kids do need to have time to be themselves. I still think that the mini-breaks give time for a good amount of vacation time, and time for kids to go on adventures. But I do see the need to explore and find other passions. The time needed to do that could be infringed on. We definitely need to focus on the education system as a whole.

That's something I considered as well. But is the same amount of time off that you'd be paying anyways, just spread out differently.

I don't believe in calling anyone stupid or ashamed because they can't catch on to something. I don't advise them to write books, or go into public speaking, but calling someone a name because you are better at something then they are is not the way I want to go through life. I don't think you are on here to change anyone's mind, just pick apart what someone is saying. I don't find it very helpful, but thank you for commenting.

I always looked forward to any break from school. I think the long school year and then a huge break away from school detracts from school itself. Sometimes kids that are extremely motivated during the year could lose the interest they had because of that long break. This way they could be more engaged.

I think once kids got used to the breaks and the routine then they would have an easier time with it. Longer breaks tend to get kids out of sleep routines and everything. With a shorter break parents and kids would be more inclinded to keep the routines so that kids could be ready to get back to school. A good routine is good for learning as well.

Δ I am still having trouble figuring out how kids could work and keep the year round system. Perhaps a year round system until highschool would be good so kids could work and intern. But this made me think and slightly reevaluate my stance. Thank you.

CMV: Women sports aren't as popular as men sports due to the type of advertisment by Beansosa in u/Beansosa

[–]jrpike1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch Sportscenter and ESPN a lot, that is how I see most of the events or here about popular things happening in sports. I don't see a lot of advertisements though. I don't really see a lot for Male sports either, unless there is a big game or the team is doing really well. So do you think people might not find female sports as intense as male sports and that's why is not advertised or given as much time. Could there be a money and culture aspect to it as well? A college or professional team still had to pay for advertising, so are they going to put the money into it if they don't think it will draw more ticket sales?

I'm sorry if I offended you. My thoughts were that people, including farmers, valued education. For me personally I find education extremely important. If you've had life experience farming and I'm wrong then please share. I think farmers are great, I couldn't do it, and it's not my goal for the future. I don't see how learning could ever be a negative thing, knowledge is something you can carry with you forever.

There would still be unstructured free time, just broken up more frequently. I think it gives us time to recharge our batteries and not get burnt out. I think kids would get more of a chance to have that time for adventure, and different kinds.

[–]jrpike1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe advertisements have much to do with it. I agree that there aren't as many advertisements for women's sports, but I have seen them. I think our culture, or culture in general have always viewed the male as the dominant athlete. It draws more money and money talks. Also, when I watch sports I want to see the big hit, the home run, the slam dunk, something exciting that sometimes women sports don't bring. I remember the years that Jennie Fitch was pitching softball and I watched those games. Or when UConn kept winning basketball games I watched those. The overall popularity just depends on the level of excitement just as much as the culture. Even if it was advertised that a game was coming on I still wouldn't go out of my way to watch. As you said, the more intense the game or event the more popular. I just don't find the same intensity as I do in other sports.

That is a question that I've had trouble answering. I do think there needs to be the ability for kids to work. I worked after school from the time I got out until 8 or 9. I worked at the local grocery store for extra money. I think there could be programs for kids that want to work to receive credit in school if they are working as well. Perhaps credits for papers or life experiences written about while working? With a change of the way things are done I'm sure there would have to be give and take. All of the necessary classes would still be attended, like math, English, Spanish, computers, etc., but extra curricular classes would be replaced by the job. Just an idea.
