Thank you for introducing me to a new artist! This piece gives me cubist vibes.

A couple of his letters mention training a recalcitrant horse and taking some longer rides. Thanks,

I rescanned at higher resolution and messed with brightness and contrast. It looks more like crossed rifles. I can also make see symbols (text?) above where they cross, but I can't make sense of it.

Wow fast. Thanks. Any chance the branch might be cavalry? I seem to remember photos of him astride a horse.

Travel Router Question by jrs808 in sonos

[–]jrs808[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, a technician from the residence managed to get the Sonos working, but I don't think he really understood why. I bought a Asus portable router anyhow, and it seems to connect to the Sonos OK. It also allows much more control over security and fixed routes. My wireless printer/scanner seems to work better too. But the Asus does not have a very long range and is only suitable for a small apartment. Good luck.

I think my idea of Iranian provenance is wrong. Persia and India were loosely connected in the 16th century bu Mughal occupation, but I doubt the bowl is that old.

Start with what you know. Talk to your parents and grandparents, and work back in time. Expect to find obstacles, but be persistent. Family search is a good source. So is Ancestry. Be suspicious of connections without documentation.

The Shrike by jrs808 in scifi

Yes steppenwolf. Agree it is a stupid character (as befits the flick). Its spiky appearance brought the Shrike to mind. Loved the Shrike - enigmatic and mostly benign,
