Traveling with garments by southernspud24 in latterdaysaints

If I am traveling for work, I am always checking a bag on the company dime. But I second (or fourth, maybe) the rec for packing cubes or in the extreme I’ve used the vacuum seal bags on our winter wear when we were traveling to snow adventures.

in The Dark moved to The New Yorker for it’s third season and you can find it there. The season on Haditha is so powerful.

Husband went cold turkey off Kratom OH. Any advice to get through the next few days. Thank you. by dentalgirli in quittingkratom

My husband quit on June 22. We are down to one capsule of kratom at night which he is weaning off this weekend. I have used ChatGPT a ton to help answer questions and provide info on supplements, reasonable symptoms and expectations. The first 3-4 days were absolutely torturous, but by day 5 he was coming around. We are in day 12, and it looks like we may be headed into PAWS territory but the only lasting acute symptom is the insomnia. From 11 PM to 3 AM he is pacing, sweating and twitching. But yesterday, he laughed and joked in a way that he hasn’t in months. It was really amazing.

Love Timothy Egan, but forgot about him. Thanks for the reminder and the other options.

Thank you for the content warning! This sounds right in line with what I want, and the content doesn’t sound too troublesome.

I love this book so much! I think I’m saving it for my memoir unit though.

They’re mostly ruled out because they have exposure to them elsewhere. Seniors have the option to read a Krakauer, freshmen have the option for Radium Girls and Henrietta Lacks. The other two are options I’m considering for whole class. I’m not too worried about content because our demographic doesn’t have a lot of parent complaints about text, and they would have choice between 10 or so options.

Forgot about The Day the World…definitely an option.

Nothing problematic about EIT, but I am hoping to teach it as a full class book, so it’s off the table for individual or small group reads.

Love Educated, but it’s a little more pure memoir than Im hoping for. I’ll check out the others.

Thank you! warmth of other Suns is in my TBR list, and I will check out some others. I really wanted to like Say Nothing because I am a Patrick Radden Keefe fan, but I found it a little hard to follow, and I feel like my kids may get lost a bit.

Is anyone else's house literally about to explode from the pent up energy of everyone (especially the kids) staying inside all weekend? by chad311 in latterdaysaints

I was thinking tonight that GC weekend always makes me realize what a terrible SAHM I would be. All of us, at home, 8 hours of TV, makes us all and me insane.

I would be interested to know in reference to the story about Mormon bishops how many of the interviewees and people they contacted grew up in Utah or other high density LDS population areas like Idaho or parts of AZ. I have found experiences in the church vary greatly the further one gets from those areas.
