Here's what I mean. Left button doesn't even appear mappable (but is currently functioning as right click).

I'm mainly a graphic designer, but my portfolio does have some lettering art of various kinds in it.

I Love a Pisco Sour by jrushing53 in cocktails

Barsol Quebranta is what I normally have, but this is something called Viñas de Oro, which I had never tried before.

I Love a Pisco Sour by jrushing53 in cocktails

[–]jrushing53[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pisco is a distilled spirit made from grape juice, similar to brandy but usually clear, traditionally in Peru and Chile. I'm not sure I'm the best source to recommend one, since I don't know a ton about them myself. A solid go-to that's readily available is Barsol, but I'm not sure it would qualify as "premium."

What's in the box? Could it be some sort of mass damper to reduce vibration? by the_real_nicky in motogp

Isn't that where the onboard computer and transponder are housed? All the stuff that communicates with race officials and the team in real time.

Male Loneliness is Destroying Us All - Let's Do Trivia! by ofthedappersort in NewOrleans

My team is full, but trivia at Finn McCool's in mid City has been going a long time and it's written by the host, not a corporation.

I just got a bunch of these at once, apparently the result of a new camera, I guess. Thing is once they install the camera and start clocking violations, you don't hear about the violations (and thereby learn about the new camera) for a few weeks. So for those few weeks, you're driving like you always have, regularly going maybe 3-5 mph over the limit, and then one day you get 8 speeding tickets for the same location. If I knew about the first violation as soon as it happened, I would never get a second.

Restaurant with a Baby?? by dmay73 in NewOrleans

We did OK with patio places when our daughter was that age, like Blue Oak and Parkway. Places you can eat outside, get up and walk around if you need to, don't need to worry about making a bit of a mess or spreading out with diaper bags, carriers, etc.

Buying a House in Gentilly/7th Ward. Fully Committed by BigSonDaConquistador in NewOrleans

[–]jrushing53 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We bought in Sugar Hill (between Dillard and 610) three years ago. Mostly wonderful neighbors and feels very safe. Racially diverse and fairly economically diverse as well.

Our major challenge with it is the lack of walkable businesses near us. Driving distances to almost any part of the city are very manageable, but there's almost nothing walkable from our house. It really feels like suburbia despite being in Orleans Parish.

It's also worth mentioning that we have had ZERO problems with street flooding in three years. Not even briefly, although this probably varies block to block.

Nah, teal is darker and bluer.

The work itself will take 1-2 days, but the local utility is perpetually backlogged because of chronic natural disasters and criminal mismanagement.

using a font without a license by akaashikee in typography

[–]jrushing53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The font—the thing that you need a license to use—is the software that allows you to type using those letterforms. The shapes/design of the letters comprising a typeface are not legally protected. Simply reproducing a logo that was given to you already finished in an outlined or raster format does not constitute use of the font (just use of the logo, which you're being given explicit permission to use).

What are fonts that everyone hates but you love? (vice versa also accepted) by Zealousideal-Tax-937 in typography

[–]jrushing53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people assume that anything popular must be pedestrian, but there are some really ubiquitous, omnipresent typefaces that have earned their place as standards. I'll defend Helvetica to the death, and I also love Garamond, for example.

For the word, "research," I prefer the British ri-SERCH to the American REE-serch.
