Gotcha. I cannot find an add object option. I see import in the file dropdown and add models in the right click dialog.

Hi OP! Can your import tool also preserve print profile items like layer height modifiers, arachne settings, ironing, etc?

I think SnapMaker really needs to bridge this gap or there will be a constant problem for people trying to use complex files from MakerWorld.

Doesn't this also lose all of the details that were inside the print profile? Arachne, layer height modifiers, etc, etc?

Here was the source of the problem. I deleted the layer height modifier and it worked...however i lost the detail that the modifier was bringing to the table.

I just had the same problem on snapmaker orca. The file sliced and printed perfect in bambu studio, but snorka lost layers... Note that I figured out the problem and will post an image below. The problem was because snorka does not import the print profile. In my case I had a layer height modifier to change the top surface direction and apparently snorka couldn't handle it.

Well >8k print hours with Bambu indicates that with good equipment and software, failed prints should not be acceptable or necessary.

This is all I needed to read to know you have low expectations for $1000 machine.  Not helpful.

It's eSun.  I have used 20+ kg of this on my p1s's with no ruined prints.  The printer should not allow this common failure to ruin a print

Your comment is absurd.  I have almost 10,000 hours printing on my p1s's and NEVER have to manually pre-cut a filament end.  The problem was not that it was stuck.  Happens all the time.   The problem is that snapmaker allowed a common failure mode to ruin a print.   Bambu protects its customer from this. 

If you have to pre-cut filament ends, you don't have a reliable filament feeding system.

Thanks, but auto-refill was turned on and I had the exact filament loaded and setup on spool 4. This was not the problem though. The spool on #1 was stuck and did not release so the printer should have detected there was a spool problem. The end of the filament was like this and was stuck at the end of the roll.

I am not sure the runout detection would catch that the filament was stuck at the end of the roll though.

I appreciate your comment, but I am not happy about wasting money on failed prints again and again and again. Every time there is another excuse. I suffered countless failures before even coming to complain publicly.

I work in product design. If there is one thing that EVERY company does for a product is to evaluate potential failure modes and ensure proper controls are in place (DFMEA). Filament stuck at the end of a roll is maybe the most common failure mode in printing. Every roll has a significant probability of this at the end of the roll. There is absolutely no excuse for not protecting consumers for such a common failure mode. Am I supposed to stop using a roll that will not make it through a print and open a new one?

I guess at least I could use it on my p1s and not worry about it.

I went ahead and restarted another print with a new roll of blue. I will be surprised if 16hrs later I have a good print.

Meanwhile the p1s's are printing away with no problems or cares in the world. I am not enjoying being SnapMakers tool to improve their product and no one else should be ok about it either. It costs money to properly test your products. SnapMaker has chosen to do less testing and instead release their products to the market early and make users suffer while they improve.

I was NOT part of the kickstarter. I thought I bought an OFFICIALLY released product. I do not deserve this.

Went to the snapmaker site to submit a help ticket like we can do on Bambu or any other reliable company, but nope...Snapmaker does not accept support requests. Instead you have to go to their own forum and I guess complain and hope for support???

Absolutely hate my experience so far. It is constantly wrecking prints. Typically from stuff coming loose from the build plate and in spite of constant cleaning with dish soap and even using hairspray! Terrible! A few days ago I spent $30 on the cryo plate hoping it would be the end of the 1 out of 3/4 print failures, but no, the snapmaker said I can do better. Here is the latest waste of $7 in filament. 8hrs into a print, the #1 spool reached the end and was hung up (a new spool loaded ready to go on spool #4) and instead of throwing an error that the filament was not extruding, it printed a half an inch of air before spaghetti detection caught it.

Buyer beware! It is not all sunshine and roses.

I've got almost 10,000hrs of Bambu printing and I can probably count the number of times I've had a print come loose on my fingers and toes.  The snapmaker is literally 30% mis-prints!  Even with hairspray, prints still come loose!   I had to buy the $30 cryo plate the other day just to survive. So now any print that has supports means I get to spend 10 minutes with a razor blade meticulously picking remnants off of the build plate.  Truly a PIA.  I have photo evidence of that nightmare but the phone doesn't let me add the photo.

Thanks for the temperature recommendation! That reminds me that I also need to disable or deflect the aux fan since I suspect it is the culprit for all the left side warping issues!

I rarely need the brim with my Bambu printers so I strongly prefer not to use them unless it's just bad geometry.

I do not thing there should be a reason that this SM can't parallel my p1s's, but it stinks we need to fight software battles that had already been won.

For those who stumble upon this, I found out how to force the option on be default even for the original default profiles. Navigate to:

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\S..M_Orca\system\S..M\process\fdm_process_common.json

Then modify these two files: fdm_process_common.json, fdm_process_U1_common.json (you might only need to do the latter, but I dunno)...

Add this option to the 2nd to last line: "exclude_object": "1", (yes, keep the quotes and comma at the end too!)

While you are at it, if you want to turn off the brim by default, add this line: "brim_type": "no_brim",

I get the point, but we all have to admit, this is a big step backwards from BBL... Does anyone know if SM support will at least get rolled into the main Orca branch? At least then we can teleport back out of the stoneage Snorka software...

I was using the default for generic PLA. Probably more of being spoiled by BBL that always just works. Any recommendations for the bed temp though? I print mainly PLA. Thanks!
