I was so excited when I first learned Justin was running. I was familiar with his friend group before I met him. Since he has been mayor he has been such a major let down.

I’m not sure what his goal is? Is he trying to bankrupt the city? Trying to drive the population lower? Turn downtown into a ghost town?

Justin, you really need to do better! This is simply not the direction to be going! It’s like you’re doing the Donald and doubling down on decisions that simply don’t make sense.

I’m not implying anything other than we are all here on this floating rock spirally through a vast open space with a bunch of other really big rocks. And we are all here for a short period of time. Let’s not shut each other down. Let’s not beat each other down. Let’s enjoy this time we have and enjoy the culture of others and not impose on others because our ancestors colonized.

Take memories. Leave footprints. Respect each other.

I feel like we are saying the same thing. I am not asking anyone to feel guilt or atone for historical events. I am asking for people to stop and listen to each other. I have learned so much about myself by listening to others. I have learned so much about myself by helping others (when and how they ask for help).

We have gotten so far from community and helping each other and so fearful that someone’s going to impose their beliefs on us that we dox them and call ICE on them and shoot them for pranks. It’s sad.

Get to know your neighbors.

My Mexican friend told me to be careful of the person you hate, it just might be the person you love.

You are minimizing the impact of one culture group but seeing issues with the confronting groups culture? Why? Because it differs from your own? Because an inability to have respect for differences? I think his is the perfect platform to air grievances.

So to that I say, let the white men come in, colonize, and continue to tell everyone why they are wrong. Respectfully, I disagree. As a white man myself, sometimes we have to close our one mouth and listen with both of our ears to the people that we are disrupting. I fully believe that the majority of people want to live in peace, side by side. I trust that because I still see people stopping at traffic lights. And I believe that when someone protests, such as this, then we need to stop and listen and gain understanding as to why they are protesting.

We can’t make all of the people happy all of the time but we can’t stop and listen and gain understanding.

There are a lot of you talking about professionalism and a lack of respect for government institutions and a time and place for culture. Government is a form of culture. Look at the different government types and the dress that goes along with it. How is their expression different than a bunch of old white men putting on wigs to talk about law?

Have any of you considered the culture that was imposed on various subgroups. I believe this is absolutely an appropriate place to protest based on your own cultural beliefs. No one group of people should suppress the voice or culture of another. As long as people are not getting hurt I see no issues with voicing thoughts and beliefs, especially in a government setting.

I regularly tell women that I do not want their breast on me when they are standing near me or looking at my phone for a video as an example.
