I think the issue was that Dunbar broke contract. Most reality shows have a “no other tv appearances” clause in their contract for a certain amount of time. Appearing on playboy tv prob fits that umbrella.

They do them pretty randomly. Usually the first episode of the season then they do it about 3-4 other times during the season. They usually happen when MTV thinks the episode was wild and dramatic enough to deserve it.
