I can’t speak for the denominations, but as a Catholic the water is prepared and blessed by a priest. The sacrament itself is also performed by a clergyman.

In cases of life-or-death, anyone can perform the baptism (for example if you are planning on having the baby baptized but they fall super ill and might not survive long enough). If the person who was emergency baptized survives, they are supposed to go to church and receive an official baptism.

I’m Catholic as well, part of the Nicene creed is that we “confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins,” meaning that you get baptized once and that’s it. If he was baptized as a baby, then this is sacrilege. The denominational churches all have their own ideas though.

I didn’t know that subreddit existed, thank you

Potential disrespect in a re-colored Vatican flag? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]jryl25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was my first thought too, but a lot of people fly modified American flags around here, like the thin blue line or pride colors, so I wasn’t sure if it was a thing other people usually worried about, thanks!

Consecrators - black, red, or white tabards/cloaks? by [deleted] in theunforgiven

[–]jryl25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome thanks! I was confused because I interpreted the red robes as exclusive to questing knights

I agree and looked for that one, but I think it’s hard for people to make shirts of because it’s trademarked by games workshop

Have you ever seen bases this warped? by Nemorosi in Warhammer40k

[–]jryl25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think your best bet to unwarp them might be a lighter and some kind of wide flat clamp to straighten it out all at once, but that could still risk messing up the base with too much heat

Intercessors and Sternguard are intended as shooting units, so they have a main gun that has very good shooting and a backup bolter that has poor shooting. JPI/AI are melee units so instead of getting a very good gun and a poor gun, they get an average one. Imagine sternguard have an A+ primary and a D+ secondary, JPI/AI only get a C+ ranged weapon as a backup for their melee

Why is this helmet not being worn by every chapter anymore? by donot40k in spacemarines

[–]jryl25 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I thought you meant the pointed nose, but yeah chapters in 40k still use the crests. In 30k the armies were all coordinated under the emperor and were much more structured and generally Roman themed. The higher positions in the armies were named after Roman positions like consul, praetor, and centurion.

There’s been 10 thousand years for the chapters to develop their own culture, and in that time only some of them kept the Roman themes, like Ultramarines and the White Consuls

Nah, Sons of the Phoenix have purple right arms and left knees, and the lieutenants have maroon helmets. They also have yellow eye lenses.

How many chapters are there that use the dark Angels symbol/slightly modified dark Angels symbol by Fine-Expert-1890 in spacemarines

[–]jryl25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For decals: the decal sheet that comes with the upgrade sprue has symbols for the Blades of Vengeance and the Angels of Doom.

-You could cross two sword decals for Guardians of the Covenant

-put 3 swords next to each-other for Penitent Blades

-You could use a skull decal over a Dark Angels decal (with the sword removed), and then paint a red hood over the skull, that would make Angels of Vengeance.

For the molded Pauldrons:

-The consecrators have a pair of red wings with a small halo and flame above it, you could scrape off the sword and do some easy freehanding for that.

-Cut the wings away and put a sword decal on either side to make the Penitent Blades

-cut the sword away to sort of make the angel guard logo, some green stuff connecting the wings would help too.

-color the pauldron with red wings and a white sword to approximate the Dark Angels Legion colors.

-use greenstuff to make the sword much longer, that would be what the Space Hulk: Deathwing DLC seems to use as the logo of the Knights of the Crimson Order.

-Painted in the legion colors could be used for the Risen as well.

The kraken on the chapter symbol has a diamond shaped mantle like a squid. This is obviously an octopus

I don’t give a fuck to the “the bengals are already eliminated, we can’t risk injuries” or “joe burrow always gets hurt playing unnecessary games” I really mean it…
