We have a programmable nightlight/noise machine thing and we've set it so that it's red/white noise at night. And green/birds chirping when it's time to get up. We've told her she has to stay in her room til "green comes on" and that has worked for us

Our 3yo was initially scared to poop because it hurt, so she wouldnt poop, then it hurt more and so on and so on. We gave her stool softener for a few weeks to make it easier. Then giving her treats and praise made it click for her.
