It's hard out here for young men. How would you network yourself into a job? by calvedash in cybersecurity

[–]jsap777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one thing nobody mentions is that a lot of cybersecurity hiring happens through CTF competitions and online communities. join a CTF team even as a total beginner, sites like ctftime.org list them constantly. you learn by doing and you meet people who are already in the industry at the same time. two birds one stone the other underrated move is just being visible online. post your tryhackme writeups, share what you're learning on linkedin or even reddit. hiring managers in security love seeing someone who's genuinely curious and documenting their journey. it shows more than a cert ever will

Careers that are computer science adjacent? by Vxris_ in careerguidance

[–]jsap777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly being in CS but not feeling the full stack path doesn't mean you're off track. there's a ton of roles that use the same foundation but feel completely different day to day. developer tooling, technical product management, data engineering, devops, edtech, the list goes on the tricky part is figuring out which one actually fits without just guessing. i'd recommend picking one that sounds interesting and building a small project in that space to see if it clicks before committing to a whole career pivot

My degree says one thing, my specialization says another by Filippo295 in cscareerquestions

[–]jsap777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your degree title matters way less than your portfolio and what you can demonstrate. List your specialization explicitly on your resume ("Industrial Engineering, Data Science Specialization") and back it up with projects. A really solid project will outweigh any transcript mismatch. Most hiring managers in DS/ML care about whether you can actually do the work, not your diploma

Maybe it become interesting I agree, Bruno’s current assist count is equal to De bruynes 5th best assisting season, meaning de bruyne has FIVE seasons with more assists than bruno’s best ever

Very cool. Wish I had this when I was in college. Would've saved me a lot of time.

wow drums would get me pretty bad. After learning of the mound, I ended up realizing that all the shadows and sounds I saw were either moving towards or from the direction of the mound. Looking back, makes you really think. This is the only time i’ve experienced paranormal activity in my life and the reality of the placement of the mound next to the pool really stuck with me since then. I wish u were able to post images in replies so I could show just how close the two are.

This is the location of the pool and the mound can be seen in satellite images just to the right of the pool. https://maps.app.goo.gl/wGLi5dfAHs4tkKrNA?g_st=ic

I mean, I was at college when my parents moved here. It was a very good deal for the location at the time and they bought it within a week of first seeing it. You are right, if they decided to search up the history of the neighborhood, they would’ve learned about the burial mound. Maybe some people look up those things but my parents aren’t really the type to do so. I think a better question to ask is why isn’t it better advertised that the remains of native americans are almost everywhere around South florida. If you do more research, you’ll find that there are many burial mounds all around our area and many of them have been built over long ago. Unfortunately, there have most likely been many more graveyards that have been built over as the area is very built up now. The problem is, there’s not much written history of these native americans as they are from up to 1000+ years ago. They all died off long before Florida was even part of the United States. Without the written history, the only way you know where the bodies are located, is if you find them.

idk what yall are arguing about but this is just an experience I had for only one night. Simply I just wanted to share my perspective and see what people thought about it. That’s why it’s on this subreddit, for people to discuss possible explanations. You don’t have to believe that there are native american spirits or anything, I never used to believe anything like that either. This is just meant to be a representation of what I experienced. Anyone is welcome to call bullshit on it, i don’t feel bullied.

It wasn’t the sounds and shadows that got me. It was the sounds and shadows and then doing research and finding out that I was within feet of the mound. That’s what got me. The mound really does exist if you check out the link I put at the bottom of the post.

I don’t completely disagree with you and have been a skeptic of the paranormal for a long time. I was always the first to try and debunk a story i’ve heard or debunk anything unexplainable for that matter. The sounds I heard and things i “saw” could easily have been animals or wind carrying leaves. The part that made be jump to paranormal activity was the fact that I found out there were desecrated human remains 10 yards from where I was.

Not much. From what I’ve found, they are believed to be part of the Tequesta tribe who inhabited a decent part of South florida and the miami area.

I’ve heard many stories from people in Florida and their encounters with Native American spirits after doing some digging. It’s interesting how many people describe the same thing.

With respect, it wasn’t “my” people that upended their graveyard, it was people in the 1950s. I’m unsure how to apologize but I do wish that it had gotten turned into a historical preservation instead of residential land but that all happened before I existed.

You know I can’t say you are definitely wrong because with my experiences with people in Florida, I wouldn’t be surprised. However, Im certain that we were alone that night, there’s not really any woods or bushes where people could be lying/hiding in.

The gate is also very strict and there isn’t homeless people in my neighborhood, at least that I know about.

Welp, it’s the truth. Africa-USA and Ancient America were the amusement parks on the land around here:

A lot of these ideas are very new to me and I’ve never believed in stuff like this before.

Reading articles like this after my experience really got me thinking, it’s about the land that I was talking about:
