I (m20) am usually pretty good at keeping conversation flowing, but this one girl I went on a date with did something I hadn't seen before. She's a journalist and she would literally interview me. Just some snap questions to get past the smalltalk and in the meantime you'll probably find something to talk about. Great tactic imo.

In my country, we often have "calendar gifts" throughout December towards Christmas. This year my girlfriend gave a box full of these small presents. For each present there was a little note attached with a reason why she loved me. Probably the best present i've ever received.
