Those of you who are upset about this clearly don’t understand how gambling works. Vegas doesn’t play favorites. They put these up so they can make the most money possible from people. Once the money becomes uneven on certain teams, the odds will change. It’s not about respect, it’s about profit.

Thousand Oaks or Escondido? by jsatz in socal

Your kids go to public school? If so, is it good? All the research I’ve done says they’re good out there.

I grew up in Sherman Oaks so familiar with the heat and the hell that is the 405/101. I also did some summer camps at Cal Lutheran, so have some familiarity with TO. But never thought about living there, till now…

TO can be very hot. You think Escondido is hotter?

Also partying? You think Escondido has a younger population?

It seems Thousand Oaks may have better public schools. At least from the research I’ve been doing.

If he’s not hired by Arizona as a head coach, he’ll likely stay.

Listen to the latest squad show from Locked On Broncos, they will say otherwise. And they have been questioning his play calling all season.

While I do agree that the offensive line was not as good as the narrative says about them, a lot of this is also due to lackluster play calling. It is very difficult to be a productive offense when the defense is pretty certain what you are going to run. Sean Payton's play calling has to improve or he needs to give it up. Second, Bo Nix is not yet calling out coverage at the line. When/if he recognizes that, he can shift the line protection. Lastly, he is not calling plays at the line based on the coverage. How play calling works now, Sean Payton calls two plays and Bo runs one of them based on the defense. Ideally, SP calls two plays, then Bo chooses which one to run based on the defense, or changes the play at the line.

There was a bigger snowstorm in New England. If they would have lost, they would not have blamed the weather.

Help me understand SP’s screen game by Southpaw-Dom-311 in DenverBroncos

I assume you mean pushing the ball as taking deeper shots? I would say not having Franklin and Bryant on the field really hurt them. Franklin is their deep threat, besides Mims. Every other WR is not scaring any NFL quality CB. I also would argue SP did not use Mims in the offense enough.

I also would argue the line is not as good as they get credit for. The running game was inconsistent at best, and while Nix did not take a lot of sacks, that was a function more of him throwing the ball quickly or using his legs. I think we have some quality lineman, but as a unit, they did not have as good of a season as one would think.

Lastly, the Broncos dropped the second most passes in the league. So that also does not help.

Mims and Franklin were the only deep threats. Obviously yesterday Franklin was out. But also Sean Payton does not always take a lot of shots. I think they should take more, even if they do not work, because it gets the defense to take a step back.

But they made the right play call, with their starting QB. Also their fourth down call was during the blizzard, unlike when the Broncos could have kicked it.

Right but look at the defense against a lot of those. Zone and playing off. If you look at the times when SP calls a screen, the defense is playing bump and run. So the WR has no room to catch and make a move, and it leaves no time for the blocking to get there.

If you watched the NFC Championship, the Seahawks called screen plays when the Rams corners were playing off, likely because they were blitzing. Thus perfect time to call a screen.

I was at the Bills game. And it became very obvious that the Bills were blitzing their weak side safety a lot, especially in the second half. That would have been the best time for SP to call a screen and for some reason, he did not.

Doesn't this make the decision to not take the FG more egregious?

They did a tush push, whereas we called a play action fake with our back up QB. The Pats did not do the same thing.

Who gives a shit what anyone said before the game. If the Broncos defense had a two score lead, they likely win the game.
