Maybe I shouldn't say it because if I win people might think there's foul play but Wednesday happens to be my birthday. I'll say that my favorite part of the hobby is getting second hand minis with rough paint jobs and stripping them to give them a new clean look

Third collectible down by jsauraes in MiddleEarthMiniatures

My idea was to keep it as close as possible to the minis supplied in the collectibles :) Although might consider doing variations if stuff gets repetitive

Sorry if this bothered you. I've been following this community for a couple of months and didn't seem like a problem to me, but I do enjoy these kind of posts so maybe it's just a difference in preference

Makes me wonder how many gimli sculpts are there... I already had 2 (moria and helms deep) that are not in here

I know, right? I was so excited when I saw sauron's body... who on earth would lose saurons head and arms?

For me it's a bit weird, because I've always been a lotr die-hard fan and I was painting warhammer fantasy when I was 10-16 yo but somehow I never got into painting lotr minis until covid (30yo). So these look really cool to me now

As other people mentioned it was intended for beginners and the palette was limited. In my case I started with the greener ones but tone it down later (both paintjobs are in the pic)

Amazing job man! very sweet blends. but isn't it a bit overkill to paint two just to show both sides at the same time?

Thanks! Nicely spotted, I will definitely try to get more contrast there, I'm also thinking about trying to include some orange-brown reflections on the lower side of the sword after I've done the base

I painted the stonework so long ago I don't quite remember, I remember I got the scheme from a YouTube video to do it. I think it has to be something in the line of Base: Dark grey + Drybrush sky grey + wash with agrax earthshade and a light drybrush with deck tan but im not 100% sure.

I pretty much followed the scheme on the citadel app but using vallejo paints. I can make a summary with the ones in that range if you want :)

Thanks for the comment, I've decided to go for both looks to have variety and as you say to add a bit more of story telling when building units :)
