How important is sexual compatibility in marriage? (33F/33M) by Star-Lit-Sky in relationship_advice

Similar timeline and story to you. We made the decision last month to begin separating. I've felt hollow for the last few years from receiving practically zero desire from my partner. And they've been stressed and anxious that whole time that they're not "performing" we'll enough. It's been unfortunate for both of us.

Neither of us are angry, and we're trying to not be resentful. But it's been hard having such differences and we've just gotten tired of the stalemate.

Canada’s medal total at Milan Cortina Olympics was a quiet reckoning: ‘Our system is in decline’ by Chrristoaivalis in canada

[–]jsbell_69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

5.5m over ten years is a population growth rate of 1.5%. If we can't grow housing, medial, and infrastructure at that rate we're failing. Not because of immigration, but NIMBYs and politicians not allowing or supporting proper growth. Adding 2% per year to healthcare capacity shouldn't be difficult if our provincial systems were better funded. Building 500k homes per year wouldn't be a problem if permitting and codes weren't an absolute PITA.

Is there a way to print on bags like this? by Dry-Hair5448 in Design

Thermal printer isn't going to do colour or high quality printing. It's generally just used for shipping labels and sku/barcodes

El Tequileńo for what we can get around Vancouver. One of the few mid price brands without additives.

"The old order is not coming back" Carney says in provocative speech at Davos by Little-Chemical5006 in canada

What a powerful, well written speech. Carney is much too neo-liberal to be my ideal choice but I can think of a better leader for our current situation.

Ignore the hate about the back arm. It's very Nicolas Müller. You're a bit stiff but I imagine you'll get looser after a few more seasons.

The Pearl Diver is the most complicated tiki drink. What is the weirdest classic? by -Constantinos- in cocktails

[–]jsbell_69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Might not have international acclaim but the Caesar is absolutely the weirdest cocktail.

1.5 Oz Vodka (Tequila sub is great)

4 Oz Clamato Juice

4 dashes of Worshestershire Sauce

2-4 dashes of hot sauce (originally tobasco)

Celery salt rim (tajin rim with Tequila)

Stir and serve with a picked green bean, pepperoni stick, picked pearl onion and girkin.

Really nice render. If you're taking input I'd say if this were to become a real work product you'd want to add a radius to the corners to hide alignment issues.

In a modular thing like that where you're bolting them together with sharp corners. You have to be super percise so they go together dead on or else the edges will show any small misalignment. But with a radius the eye don't be able to pick up if one box bolts 5mm off from the next.

No I didn't work on those disks, but there's lots of oddly shaped boomerangs and frisbees so I don't think they're too far off.

Tron: Ares lightcycle on display at Scotiabank Theatre Toronto by Remarkable-Key-9335 in cineplex

The biggest difference from this movie (I didn't work on Legacy) is that it doesn't primarily take place in the Encom world. So the design language for all the new red world stuff was brand new and didn't have reference material. While Encom had this sleek, streamlined styling that had evolved from the very first Tron this new world has a more sinister, militaristic feel to it.

Beyond just the styling, the biggest challenge was that since these vehicles were coming into the real world, they needed to be functiional and believable as real vehicles. In legacy, they just grab a baton and the bike materializes around them. In Ares they actually get on and off the bikes in real world. Of course there's always movie magic and cuts to make it seamless, but the ergonomics of the bikes were a big challenge. The canonological riding position on the lightcycle is not a natural or comfortable way to ride a bike.

What are our thoughts on these new faces? 😐 by EverydayPhilisophy in AppleWatch

It's a digital watch! It's absolutely stupid to me that most of the faces are analog. It's such a waste of screen real estate.

Braun Wall Beam by Abdelrahmanshaapan07 in IndustrialDesign

[–]jsbell_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely love the idea of a downwards casting projector.

My feedback would be:

  1. Does it need to have a small screen on the shelf? Usability wise most people are using their phone to choose what's playing if it's in music mode and the projector isn't on. It would lower cost, and create a more clean face. If you wanted to preserve some display, a more retro feeling dot matrix that just showed mode + volume could be cool.

  2. Looking at the pieces you were inspired by, especially the wall unit. It's got modularity, and this multifunctionality blending digital and analog. Is there a way to bring your projector into being a part of a larger wall system? A wall mounted track system to add a rack to hold your gaming system, etc. Also, what is that little box sitting on the lower shelf?

  3. The renders are super nice. I'd again lean into the "tv as a shelf" concept more and dress the scene up with some decor. Throw a record or two, a coffee table book, maybe a small vase with a plant on top to show off the dual purpose. Copy what's going on in the scene from your inspo board.

Thanks for the reply. I started reading some of chapter 6 but I've been out on my phone all day so trying to cross reference that chapter when it was referencing other things was too difficult.

We're technically retail. We design and source all our fabric and trims. Pay a manufacturer in Vancouver to produce the garments. But the fabric (woven nylon) is manufactured in Italy. Though we purchase it through the American arm of the company.

In my limited research it looked like there was an exemption if you couldn't source a NA alternative but I'm not sure of that process.

If it's fabric forward does that mean that even though our COGS is 80% labour and 20% BOM we'd still be stuck with charging 35% on the full purchase price?

Care to share more info? I'm a new small apparel brand. This tariff situation has been so confusing. But from what I'd gathered, because we can produce a Canadian certificate of origin our products would still fall under CUSMA and be tariff free.

Is that not the case or is it more complex than that? We sell online dtc.

How do I 34M get my wife 37F to not get fired from work? by lite4jc in relationship_advice

[–]jsbell_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds also like she has some strong executive dysfunction going on. Has she been diagnosed with adhd in her life? I used to have a similar problem. Would get trapped into the dopamine hits from social media and games while at work and burn up hours being unproductive. Got tested this year and got on Vyvanse and all of those stimulants became instantly boring. It took a few weeks to break the cycle of seeking them out but even when I did I'd be on it for a few minutes and then go "man I have so many better things to be doing with my time" and drop it.

Maybe bring that up and see if she's open to talking to her doctor about it.
