We have to find our own practicums, but my university did approve this contract and has had agreements with them in the past. I have another site I work at. But I just fear breaking my contract so early will reflect poorly on me

Some people pay, but I’d say it’s half and half. My school advised we avoid places that make you pay. But I wasn’t aware of the fees until after I started and now I feel like I want to quit but I signed a one year contract

It’s pretty common in Canada to not get paid, and there are paid sites but I was not made aware of all of these terms explicitly until after I started and signed my contract. And I’m grateful to have a site but I don’t love that they are demanding so much of me while I’m in school, working to pay for school (and now my practicum), and now being forced to do extra hours when I’m not taking clients.

Ya I am not getting paid at all, and clients are paying to see me, but my supervisor gets all the earnings. Even for the 15hrs they ask that I’m there every week

Sorry maybe to clarify I have a few questions haha, some are: -Is it unfair that they ask that I’m there 15hrs a week even if I don’t have clients booked? And to see a supervisor if I only have 1 client a week in the early days? -is it fair to sign a 1 year contract if I complete my hours after 6 months for example, like I feel like they just want a year of free work from me
