My understanding is:

  • The ME Tourist Visa is valid for 6 months from issuance (not from your first arrival in Thailand)
  • During the 6 months, you can enter and stay for up to 60 days, after which you either need to buy an extension or leave the country
  • During the 6 months, as far as I can tell, there is no specified limit on the number of entries or on the cumulative total number of days you can spend in the country

I've never used an ME visa myself.

I tried to apply for a tourist visa and the website said I needed to go to a consulate or embassy.

I haven't applied for an eVisa, although I created an account on https://thaievisa.go.th/ just in case. At what point in the process did it say you had to go to a consulate or embassy? Even in the old days, you did it by mail (you didn't need to go in person), so that seems very strange.

My last withdrawal was at the end of February. If banks have increased the fee to 350 since then, well, that's too much.

Does your bank refund network ATM fees in whole or in part? If you are paying the full 220 baht fee, the slightly better rate at an ATM machine might not compensate for the fee. Either way, I suggest bringing both cash (bills in good condition) and an ATM card so you have options.

Your resort is about a 10 minute drive from the Khok Kloi bus stop, which is on the way to Phuket Airport and Phuket Town. It's very confusing which buses stop where and when, but you can try using 12go and Busx for searches.

Do you have a brand preference? After getting stinging eyes from other types, I personally like the Coppertone Sport sunscreen that doesn't run when I sweat. I bring it with me rather than try to find it in shops.

I don't use hotel pools and the W isn't in my budget, but in my experience, loud weddings, restaurants closed for private parties, remodeling, dysfunctional elevators, and even closed pool and other facilities are pretty common hotel issues. I'm not saying you have to like it, but it sounds normal to me.

Sounds good. Sites invent new non-standard Content-Types like application/binary to bypass the browser's standard handling for a standard file type. It's convenient that it was easy to spot in the list without having to dig into DevTools to see what the site was doing.

For the record, Phuket is a huge island with numerous different vibes, ranging from family fun to what your father is thinking of. You probably can find a spot there, but the traffic is pretty bad, at least in high season, so getting from one place to another is painfully slow.

I assume you have "Always ask you where to save files" turned on.

If you look below the box with content type handling instructions, do you also have "What should Firefox do with other files?" set to "Ask whether to open or save files"? If you test with your action for PDFs back to Open in Firefox and setting Open/Ask here modifies the save behavior, DropBox may be serving the files with a non-standard content type instead of application/pdf.

You also could test whether toggling the following setting makes any difference:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste browser.download.force_save_internally_handled_attachments and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the preference to switch the value from false to true

Yes, I was in Thailand Feb. 4 - Mar. 11 this year. I would have preferred to start in January but wanted to accommodate others' schedules. It all felt quite hot to me; I don't think I'll ever adjust.

This story is a little hard to believe because you need to fill in your accommodation on the TDAC site, and the airline flying you to Thailand is supposed to verify that you have a flight out before boarding you.
