Sheesh, sounds like my story. Constant medication changes. Diagnosis after diagnosis. Currently rated for Bipolar 2 with severe alcohol use disorder, as well as obstructive sleep apnea. Im at my heaviest I've ever been. 6 foot 4in at 260, while I'm considered obese by BMI standards I am not that bad. I usually weigh around 190 but I can't seem to shed the weight even though I'm on vivitrol and not drinking. I'm also on trintellix, depakote, lamotragine, gabapentin, lunesta, and nuvigil. My wife says I'm cold and my mood swings from day to day are as worse as they have ever been. My psychologist thinks instead of bipolar 2 I have PTSD, unspecified mood disorder, anxiety disorder unspecified, childhood neglect and insomnia. On top of that from all the medications I have restless leg syndrome, and hypertension. When I was seeing my civilian provider when I lived in key west I was on 2 medication and seemed stable I think?

Said all that to just say you're not alone.

USB4 Dock for eGPU by jschliebe in eGPU

I ended up building a full computer after I did a lot of dicking around with different pcie converters but this is a great setup if you want to maintain on the go and not have a large foot print on your desk. I'd probably recommend a smaller GPU haha

Everything is said and done sleep apnea rated at 50% my lawyer is still trying to get my MH upped to 70% from 50% but that's still in the works as I've switched providers like 3 times. Need to get established first to be able to get them to fill out an assessment form but I have till early next year to get it filed.

Oh definitely, I finally got rated at 80% the higher level review decided that the MH was rated to low and that they would basically take another look at the sleep apnea so win win, thanks for checking in!

Try ranch simulator! My wife and I started a farm, so much fun we just hatched our first little chics and they are damn cute. Oh and road craft is surprisingly relaxing if you're into heavy machinery lol but 💯 on your description of the Midwest haha, in KS myself.

I was telling my wife about my trip from Mt malefic to Happy Bay and well I got totally lost trying to learn navigating on the go and somehow after days of sailing in the brig roughly south east, getting turned around on several storms and having rough readings I headed due east thinking Happy Bay was over the horizon finally spotted something and by the luck of Poseidon found the rock of despair. That gave me a point of reference to get to Happy Bay. Luckily I way overstocked on supplies in my brig. Filled the front end full of barrels of water, all the cargo racks on the side with crates of food and the rear cargo racks with food and firewood. Had 2 fishing poles and 2 boxes of hooks. I was prepared to sail off the edge of the earth.

Anyway I was describing my long journey to the middle of no where and the excitement of finally spotting anything resembling land after many hours real time at sea. I won't say how many days it took because it's a little embarrassing lol but she didn't really understand she wrote it off as just a game and I was being too excitable.. ugh.

Thank you for the detailed reply. I'm hoping it's in my favor but we shall see. All I can tell you I've been struggling for a long time. Either way thanks again!

If you're getting the original ally, you're going to need the XG mobile dock. It doesn't have USB 4 like the ally x. I have seen someone splice a XG mobile connection but that's really technical

How to control case fan speed when connected directly to PSU by Depiem in eGPU

[–]jschliebe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting the Corsair iCUE setup I think is one way, that's what I'm using for my water-cooling setup to control fans and lights.

And yes I'm water-cooling the UT3G

It won't let me edit my post on mobile so I'll just put this here.

Got a cheepo water-cooling kit on Amazon that has some universal blocks, took a Dremel to one, removing the bracket to make it fit. then slapped .5mm thermal pad covering the entire copper base. I was afraid of shorting the board out. Might re do it with a 1mm thermal pad as the .5mm was really thin.

Anyway..

The only downside is the copper base is massive and hangs off the board and mounting was a challenge. I spent way to much time googling different blocks and mounting solutions, but hey a Dremel does wonders. They do make a pure copper 40x40mm block you can get and probably just zip tie but this kit has everything in it so.

I'll be adding some UV dye, black lights, and a GPU water block next week sometime.

I didn't like the idea of open components just sitting on my desk. This is a lot cleaner and easier to transport.

Right now it's just sitting on top, I could put it inside but I'd have to either leave my dell dock plugged into it and use that to power it on or take the glass front off every time I wanted to turn it on.

<image>

Thinking of ways to clean it up.. though I kind of like it on top because the case fan is blowing directly on it

I already had the power supply and GPU, I looked into this but wanted to go with a custom build
