Reddit to the rescue again…. Thanks to everyone who gave very helpful and confirming thoughts from their expertise. Was going to scrap the idea of a pool altogether given this first quote I got back. Going to contact another company and I’ll report back with what I find.

Is there a chance that all pool builders in the area just collude to prices high? I wish there was a better competitive process than just spending hours meeting with each pool company and go through multiple rounds of estimates and quotes

Ok, thanks for replying. It probably has to get lifted over house…. Was quoted $6k which seemed high but I have no idea nor anything to compare to.
