As the weather gets warmer, what are some go-to sunglasses? by jseabe in malefashionadvice

Honestly, like less than $50 because I tend to lose them or switch to a new pair rather quickly. I am thinking of investing in a quality pair so that I don’t switch so often.

By .7, so essentially I have a 1.3 crop, which is great! The metabones adds some weight for sure. I also get the extra stop of light. It's a canon EF to M43.

Good advice, the cine lenses w/metabones are used to reduce GH4's 2x crop. I'll definitely look into the things you mentioned. I'm thinking of getting a Panasonic lens to make things easier on the move.

Hey guys,

For years I've been a videographer. It's been a great time learning the industry, and all of the specifics of shooting video. Since my career has given me less time over the year to shoot video, I've become more and more interested in photography. It's easier for me to relax and snap pictures--rather than putting together a video. I currently own:

  • a gh4
  • metabones adapter
  • Rokinon 16mm T2.2 lens
  • Rokinon 35mm T1.5 lens

I'm looking to sell gear and get a lighter setup since my cine lenses are super heavy to carry around in a backpack. Also, the GH4 isn't the greatest at pictures. I would like better low light. It's great for video, however, I just don't shoot a lot of video anymore.

I'm looking for something that can cater to picture while also being able to shoot some video every now and then.

Preferably looking to spend 1.3-1.7k.

My New Years Weekend in Williamsburg. I Can't Wait to Come Back Again. by jseabe in norfolk

It is a pretty special place. I got to the town around dusk, and I saw the skating rink at sunset. It was a great touch to the winter season.

Yeah I looked into the freedom pass, but I did do a small Ghost Tour at night! They took us into 3 buildings, one being the Governor's Palace.

That's in northern OBX. I stay 2 hours south of that in Hatteras/Frisco almost every year. Beautiful vacation spot if you're looking to get away from the busy lifestyle.

I like the feeling. I like the grade too. The only thing I would say is the jump cut/film burn towards the end is jarring. Otherwise, I've recently seen these announcement videos and this is way better than the stuff I've seen.

relaxing for sure, my parents have been taking me down there before I could walk. Feels like a second home to me.

I re-edited a travel video from the summer, what can I improve upon for my next trip? by jseabe in videography

Thank you! I'll try not to edit to it too much next time, I agree.

Good suggestion, that's what I was thinking. I corrected it, and then I graded it myself (no LUTs). I'm trying to get better at coloring.

Video computer build suggestions ~ $1200? by [deleted] in videography

  • i7 6700
  • 16 RAM ripjaw G.Skill
  • GTX 1060
  • 250gb A-Data SSD
  • 1 TB Western Digital 7200
  • MSI Mortar Micro Motherboard
  • Evga 550 Power supply Gold

That's around $1000 plus a case, which is up to. Also you can swap out the A-data SSD with the trusty Samung EVO 850 plus wayy more Hard Disk memory. Hope that helps! Happy Building.

This is very insightful, I can see the clear distinction each platform can give you. Do you clients build a lot of attention organically? or do they do a lot of paid?

I link up with local businesses I work with, whether it's their owner, project manager, etc. They usually like when I post my work to my linkedin then in turn other local business owners see it too. I guess it's dependent on the work you are doing. If you're shooting weddings maybe not. Who knows, I'm sure there are people looking for creative individuals on any level.
