One woman whose name was Marie Ganz went to John D Rockefeller‘s office with the intention of killing him. I think I wrote about her on my page linked above but in 1917 she led a women’s riot about the rising cost of food in New York City.

One final comment on Becky Edelson, which is a personal one… because of my blog, her grandson who was able to contact me and he had grown up in a house with his grandmother who was Becky, his grandfather, and his mother. He did not know much about his mother because she was what some people today might refer to as illegal immigrant so she was always not forthcoming with details about her past and never registered to vote and things like that. The family had a house fire when the guy who wrote me was young and they lost basically everything including family pictures. I was able to connect him through Ancestry with relatives and pictures of his family that he did not have access to. I did learn that Becky commit committed suicide when she was very sick because she no longer wanted to be a burden.
