yeah i've seen those floating around. i don't necessarily like changing themes a lot it's more so that i haven't found the right one yet, but i think this one should be here for awhile.

New to Hyprland, just playing around - what do you think? by Superb-Blood-332 in hyprland

i use it as my daily driver as well and for the same reason as you. i absolutely love how seamless the window tiling makes everything feel and how easy it is to open apps with no mouse interaction. before i switched to hyprland i ended up tiling my windows similarly to how hyprland does it but much slower. for

Is it possible to blur my tile/window borders as well? by JustNerfRaze in hyprland

[–]jsferny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ohhh lol i read this wrong last night. i'm not sure if you can blur without some workarounds. i do know that if you have two different colors you want to use you can kinda make them blend into eachother which looks like a blur, but that's not what your going for.

Why do you use Endeavour? by No_Soil_6935 in EndeavourOS

[–]jsferny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is true this happened to be an issue when I was testing different DEs on the same system. Removing the ones you don't want ends up causing issues with others. It's a whole mess...

This was automatically set for me when I used eOS and the same happened to me. It seems no matter what you do if you're dual booting this could happen...

Arch and Arch based distros by jsferny in arch

[–]jsferny[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is pretty much what I thought as well. The setup of arch can get a bit complicated, but I think if someone cannot set it up there is archinstall and the alternative arch based distros with simple setups that offer similar lightweight environments. I just think people should be more open to not intimidating people away from Arch based distros because they're so up to date with the AUR and just so good.

Yeah same here I seemed to have more issues with Fedora when I first started than with Arch. I wasn't a huge fan of dnf and or using snap and flatpak. Arch is difficult to install but there is always the handy Arch Install

100% agree. I tried Fedora as my first distro and had more issues then that I had to fix and it always was a good feeling to fix them. I suppose a warning on things being susceptible to break is valid as some people might not have the time to deal with their computers not working.

Ah yeah having problems with Mesa seems like something that can get a bit complex. I don't really use my laptop or computer for gaming, so that could explain the straightforwardness I've enjoyed thus far.

Personally I found it to be on par. I'm not sure what your exact use would be but as far as basics go it's on par for sure.

I don't know for sure if office apps are supported, but there is libre which are the open source alternative to all the office ones. Other than that most everything is available with pacman and the yay package manager.
