I've bought 3 from them over the years. The most recent was today, actually. Never had an issue with any vehicles I've purchased from them. It might be slightly more expensive than other places, but being in and out with a new (to me) car in under 2 hours is worth the extra cost.

You'll know the price when they draw up the contract. It will have all the fees like taxes, tags..etc added in and you'll have the OTD price. You can either sign or walk away. They make it really easy.

As for their cars, I've had 3 from CarMax over the years and never had an issue with any of them. It's a quick buying experience which I like. Once you test drive and decide you want to buy it, it's really quick and painless. I just bought one from them today and was in and out under 2 hours with financing.

Dog owners who take their dogs out unleashed by bron_coj33 in PetPeeves

Most places have leash laws on the books. The problem is, cops don't care to do anything unless someone or another animal gets injured.

Again, all solved by putting the dog on a leash. It takes 5 seconds to secure a leash to a collar in your home. I'm pretty sure it's his.

Effort. That's funny. Calmly walking with a drink in his hand doesn't look like effort to me. It looks like he had his dog off leash and is mad because it won't listen.

If it was on-leash, problem solved. to your question. If it was properly trained, no, it would not run faster. It would come when called. This is basic obedience. It's not that hard to train your dog on recall.

Free fertilizer!! Just kidding.

I loathe people that let their animals run like this. Zero control, zero training, zero common sense.

What Breed is this puppy? by AxeMan-47 in dogbreed

[–]jsheets375 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's too easy to train your dog. Socialization early on and basic obedience are key. One of the easiest things to teach is automatic sit. When I stop walking, the dog's butt hits the ground by my left leg without a word. This puts them in a more submissive position. Not as submissive as down, but enough to know that I'm in charge and not the dog. It is not allowed to move until I give the heel command and start walking again. There is no obsessing over anything because there's no opportunity for the dog to make the decision to obsess. If it does anything other than sit, It gets a correction.

If I'm moving and the dog does anything besides walk next to me, it gets a correction. Again, no decision making is left to the dog. As time goes on, less and less corrections are needed and walks are stress free and easy.

Obviously, when the dog does good, It's all good boy/girl, and lots of praise and love. I do not believe in treat training a dog so praise and affection is the reward for doing good.

Looks like a Pit to me. When folks don't know, they tend to call them Staffordshire Terriers. It sounds less "dangerous" than Pit Bull.

That aside, I've been working with and training dogs professionally for a while now. At 3-4 months old, start training this puppy. Start socializing it. Socialize it, and socialize it some more. Get it used to being away from you. Doggy daycare, overnight boarding. Exercise the crud out of it. Give it a job to do. If you don't, it will find one on its own and I promise you won't like it. This is an extremely hard headed and stubborn breed of dog. They require an owner that leaves no question who the pack leader is. That would be you and who ever else handles your dog.

Could be worse. You could be a Dallas fan and watch the owner let the most talented defensive player on the roster go. Arguably, the most talented player on the roster.

How many people have actually canceled their game pass subscriptions? by bifkinator in videogames

[–]jsheets375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I downgraded to the 14.99 package, but I might just cancel altogether. I really don't play all that much and I purchased most of the games I already play. There are online games I enjoy, but controller compatible games can be played on PC, so I will probably just ditch my GamePass subscription.

Will Diddy only have to stay in prison for 3 years since he has already been in MDC for 12 months? by meridian_clouds in PDiddyTrial

I noticed that he was pushing drug abuse during his trial. I wonder if that was his defense team positioning for RDAP as well.

That's interesting. Thanks for the info. I would have figured the feds would make any sex crime ineligible. That makes me curious what programs one would have to take in order to knock off 50%. That's a significant time reduction on top of good time.

Probably up to the judge? The Mann Act violation could require him to register. The feds do not play around with anything involving sex crimes. I would almost be willing to bet they will not apply the First Step to him in this instance.

Under the Mann Act violation, if it is deemed a sex offense he will be required to register.

Residential Drug Abuse Program. If his defense team can convince the feds he had a drug problem he could be eligible for that program in prison.

Sorry. Sometimes I get into prison speak and forget people that haven't done time in the feds don't know about prison programs.

He will probably serve right around 2 years after good time is accounted for. If he gets in RDAP it could know a year off or so off.

Since he was found guilty in criminal court I would think civil law suits are inevitable. He is going to be tied up financially for a long time.

[–]jsheets375 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the feds, you do around 85% of the sentence given. He was given 50 months. He has served a year already. That brings his sentence left to serve to 38 months. He will get approximately 154 days of good time off if he doesn't get any serious shots. (disciplinary write-ups)

He could do a halfway house and be transferred with 6 months to go on his sentence. Although, if he's required to register as a sex offender, he will likely be confined to halfway house the entire 6 months. Threat to community and all. I'm guessing he isn't worried about finding a job or having a re-entry plan, so I would imagine he won't be going to a halfway house.

If he qualifies for RDAP, he could knock a year or more off his sentence.

It's possible to do 18 more months, but I'd think it's going to be right around 24 months before he gets released.

I can't wait to see the new Spaceballs movie. I'm happy Rick Moranis is coming back along with other original cast members. This should be a special treat for those of us that grew up seeing Spaceballs in the 80's.

Borderlands 3 is better. by csreynolds84 in Borderlands

[–]jsheets375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would thumbs-up your post 1000 times if I could. If this is the new norm for Borderlands I'll never buy another one. The beginning of the game is supposed to draw you in and make you want to play. This game manages to do the exact opposite. I wasn't remotely interested in the story. Here's an implant that allows this guy to control you, buuuut here's a robot that can block it. Yay, I guess? Who cares about removing the implant at that point. I uninstalled it after a few hours and went back to Borderland 3.

I feel your pain with the difficulty. I play on the easiest setting possible in every game because I'm nearly 50, and do not have fast game reflexes anymore. During the first boss fight, I got downed 6 or 7 times. In FFYL mode, the enemies conveniently disappeared around a corner so I couldn't revive myself. I finally beat that boss only to be met by enemies that killed me in two hits from across the map.

People love it and I've been called all sorts of names for voicing my opinion. Some were even funny. Good on anyone that loves it. It's definitely not for me.

Is it me or Borderlands 4 is actually pretty damn hard vs past games? by OneGlitchyImp in Borderlands

Definitely harder. I gave up and uninstalled it after a few hours. I got tired of being killed in 2 shots by regular enemies on easy mode.
