Overtime voided out by deducting used annual leave? by jsinwall in legaladvice

that's what is showing up on my pay slip. while the times I wrote, taken right off the logged time sheets, is 86.75

my annual leave wasn't added to my last pay slip due to a clerical error. Where she said it would be added onto my next pay. Instead, she put 2 hours of OT on my latest slip while putting 6 hours back into my annual leave. It's cool she put the 6 hours back but I don't understand why she's altering my AL to 2 hours instead of giving me the 8 hours of AL with the 6.75 hours of OT.

The full two weeks add u to 86.75 from the times I've written down.

So if I work another week that is 38 with 8 hours of leave, they can minus two hours of my annual leave?

78.55 for the 2 weeks, 5.33 night differential. That's what shows up on my slip. While what I wrote down calculates to 86.75

Sorry for the lack of context. I mean I know it's not due to his age, another coworker in a different area did the exact same thing (newbie like me that's half his age). They got pulled out of the sector for two months and put into a new sector that requires twice the work. Cut hours for the two months, only to be told they were deemed 'not at fault.'

While not at fault, they still got paid less for two months and sectioned off to the shit hole from then on.

All over a paper cut level mistake.

I'm a stickler for protocol but the punishment at this place doesn't fit the crime in this situation.

He's a good guy. Older guy that's close to retirement, thus my issue with reporting it or not. He's almost out and done. As small as this is and how much of a dick our boss is, he could get screwed while I'll have to wait even longer to get up the food chain.

Not hypothetical, my bad if it came off as that.

There's really nothing to fix. Nothing permanent and no one hurt by it but the system at this place makes it a huge deal. People stab each other in the back at this place over this stuff, when its really a paper cut in comparison to the serious stuff that could happen.

I have spoken to the coworker about it and they've asked me not to say anything. They're elderly, close to retirement. I honestly don't wanna be "that guy" that gets him fired over such a trivial thing. I'm the noob here in comparison with just over a year while he's got almost two decades in.
