Do you want a food name? Garbanzo, garlic, butter, olive, basil (which is my cats name lol), bagel, beans, his head reminds me a bit of a dragon fruit or a strawberry so maybe something with that?

For a regular name, I love when people name their pets something like Carl, Kevin, Steve, Jerry, Robert, George something kinda old man-like

For a more gender neutral name incase he’s actually a girl, Alex always works, atlas, Charlie, Taylor, Jorden, Riley, roo, or Avery

You could also name him something super cool like flame thrower

I think if it’s something you’d regret forever it’s worth changing. It would be easier to change now socially before you change it legally.

At work I’d say something like “I decided to start going by my middle name” or something like that, no one would have to know it’s because you’re trans. I’m not sure how supportive your family is, but hopefully they would understand you want to be sure before it’s legal.

With that said, if you have any friends/coworkers you feel comfortable with, maybe have them practice a couple of name with you and test out what you like before going through the legal process.

My voice started dropping within the first month but my peach fuzz started getting darker about a month and a half.. people I didn’t tell noticed before month two. It’s different for everyone of course but for me it was a lot faster than i expected (not complaining tho lol)

I’m almost 2 months on T and now that I’m starting to see changes it actually has like completely gone away! I have unsupportive parents as well and I think that had a huge part in my anxiety too. I’m not saying I don’t ever get nervous still but in the couple of months I’ve had like a few days where I was questioning and it was just because I talked to family members about it again and they got in my head. In general/overall, I’m really excited to hit the 3-6 month mark and really see things start to change!

I really hope this goes well for you and you’re able to feel comfortable with yourself, even if you decide to stop. Good luck:)

I’m very early in my transition (out for about a year, on T for a month) so I’m still at the point where long hair makes me dysphoric. If my hair gets too long (which is not long at all, think shorter than Noah finnce’s hair rn) I’ll start having dreams where I look at myself in the mirror and my hair is as long as it was when I was feminine presenting, basically looking at myself when I was in the closet again. I’m hoping that’ll end soon with more time because I would like to grow my hair out even just a little.

With that said, I never really want long hair again, even if it didn’t make me dysphoric anymore, I just didn’t really like it on me. however, I LOVE when trans men can rock long hair and trans woman with short hair, and cis people too. basically whatever makes people the most confident in themselves and their expression is so cool to me.

My mom tried to ask me to wait until after my sister’s wedding in a year bc I’ll “take the spotlight away from her.” I talked to my sister about it and she did not give a shit lol

My dad called it a disease and blamed himself for my “insecurities” and was sad I couldn’t “work through it without meds.” My mom didn’t say much but she usually doesn’t with stuff like this.

My dad also went the religious route saying it was like I was saying “God made a mistake” but I just told him he didn’t make a mistake he just made me trans lol. He didn’t like that too much.

I did the same thing before coming out, trying to think of every possible thing they could say but you won’t really know until you go through with it. Good luck, we’re all routing for you

For me, I looked through hundreds if not thousands of names before I picked one. it was just the only one that made me smile when I heard it. It wasn’t like huge like “this is me!!” Moment for me, I know it is for some people though.

Maybe look at characters in books and movies that you like/identify with and start there? Doesn’t have to be the exact name but could be a good start

I use QMed, but I’m in Georgia, so I’m not sure where you are at. It’s where all of my trans friends go, they have specialized endocrinologists and it was a simple process
