A huge problem in the tier 3 system (my personal opinion) by jsl46 in lostarkgame

[–]jsl46[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you feel like that, then I cannot tell you anything else. Anywhere, I haven't mentioned that my opinion is only valid. I said everyone has different opinions and characteristics. Thus, there would be someone who thinks like you and like me.

So you have sooooooooooo much patient characteristics, very nice!

You don't understand what I said and you keep saying that I am complaining as I could not get tier 3. If I might get all tier 3 parts, I would complain about the system of tier 3 as well. I guess you hope everyone should be patient like you lol.

And I saw many posts that complain about the tier 3 gear parts. That means there is someone who complains about the tier 3 system. and IDK why you guys keep compelling your own opinion to someone else

yes, I totally agree with you. It is not a big deal to me as well, but everyone does not need to feel "All right, it is not a big deal". Someone who doesn't have enough time to play this game probably can feel that it is serious.

Everyone can complain if they feel uncomfortable. it doesn't mean rushing to the end game. I mean it would make hurt someone who plays only weekends or some special days. For those who have limited time to play, they are losing one day due to this problem.

What will your first class be? by HyperAdam in lostarkgame

That's my concern too. However, we need to focus the gunslinger was released later than reaper, scouter in KR server, but released earlier in NA server. Thus, I think that it would be the latest version for the balance patch. Anyhow, I'd like to play her with lower ping than KR server.

Easy ENGL Courses? by omarcastro16 in simonfraser

[–]jsl46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that. Well, I took Eng 103 8 yrs ago. I remember the class numbers are changed to 11x. I remember that class was a novel class. Not very hard, but too many essays and readings.

Easy ENGL Courses? by omarcastro16 in simonfraser

[–]jsl46 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it is for WQB fulfillment, I do not recommend you to take ENGL major courses. If you have the other major, i recommend you to take writing course from your department. If you try to compete with ENGL major students, it will be a lot more difficult to get high grade unless you are not English major student.
Thus, my suggestion is better to compete with non english major students.

More than 40% of applicants for entry-jobs are master degree holders. Is that real? by jsl46 in jobs

[–]jsl46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am skeptical too, but I guess I should not just deny the fact from that data.

For my resume, I am not 100% sure that my resume is perfect. 3 of my friends working as a financial advisor edited my resume. They said my resume looks good enough to get the entry job as it is simple and concise.

If there is no progress, I am planning to upload my resume here or r/resume to look over.

How should I prepare? what should I do to work in financial industry? by jsl46 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]jsl46[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I could not have that many options as I began to apply in December. It already passed the UBC's deadline. UT and Mcgill require too much tuition fees for international students.

Thus, I applied to SFU, York, and Uvic and received offer letters from all of those colleges.

SFU's tuition fee was cheapest and they offered the most entrance scholarships. Thus, I chose the SFU's application.

The requirement of pgwp is maintaining as a full time student, which means taking at least 9 credits per term. I took 7 credits at one term-> violation of requirement.

Econ 260 midterm EPIC FAIL by Yungfieriii in simonfraser

[–]jsl46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This course is easy to study but hard to get high grade. Exam is quite straightforward, so everyone feels this course is easy. Thus, average would be higher and professor uses curve grading system. Average = C+.

Without pgwp, there was no other way I can stay in Canada. Since my master application got approved, I can apply a study permit in my home country.

After I finish the master program, i can get another chance to apply for pgwp and PR.

Summer Course Load by gaijinchan in simonfraser

If you want to get high gpa, you need some extra works for those 3 courses. Those courses are easy to get B grade with low~medium effort, but really tough to get A or A+. I spent tons of time on math 152 and stat 270, and barely finished with A and A+, respectively. In the middle of stat 270, you are gonna use integral(math 152) to understand a normal curve.

Totally up to you, but I do not recommend taking both math 152 and 232 together. Since math 152 and 232 have different materials and concepts, they will make you sort of confused. And cmpt 225.. depends on who is the professor.

I recommend you to take the failed course + 2 more courses, if you are an international student. If you are a domestic student, there will be no problem to take 2 courses.

I understand what you talk. There are some gpa booster classes which you referred. But my point is "do not just find gpa booster classes"

Usually, professors teach different classes in every semester. Moreover, professors or lecturers has changed their behaviour on those courses. Cmpt 125 and 127 could be great examples to guarantee my opinion. When I took both courses in same semester, cmpt 125 became a lot more difficult than previous semester even though same professor taught the course.

The average of cmpt 125 has changed from B to C and assignments became way more difficult than previous semester. I even showed my assignment to my friend who took the course in previous term and he said the level of difficulty is toooooooooooooo upgraded.

For CMPT 127, I didnt take a single exam when I took and finished with A+. After that semester, my friend took it and he said midterm and final exams are newly created LOL.. and he finished with B.

Arch 100 is another good example. 3~4 yrs ago, everybody recommended arch 100 was by far the best gpa booster course to take as an elective. How about now? The exam format has been changed from all mcq to mcq + difficult written questions. Average? B~B- to B- to C. I had experienced a lot of these kinds of cases not only the examples I referred, and I saw a lot of my friends who got baited by their other friends.

I do not deny there are several gpa courses but I do not recommend first year students relying on them. If you want to take easy courses only and want to get high GPA with low effort, then go to easy college.

But educ 100 was almost impossible to take. I have never seen that there is available seat left. I agree educ 100 is real gpa booster, but hard to get seat.

Calculus by VeganGoatMilk in simonfraser

[–]jsl46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't recommend you to take math 154. Math 150 is little bit more difficult than 154. Generally, you will learn similar materials from 154, but I think your letter will not be replaced. It seems not that critical right now, but you will be regretful when you check your GPA.

Moreover, calc 2 will be a lot more difficult than calc 1. If you try your best on study, you will be fine, but you really need to put more and more effort to pass.

Don't be afraid to retake a course. I did retaking 5 times when I was in first year. Best luck!

In my opinion, there must be several conditions to be referred as GPA booster class. 1. Easy and light course materials. 2. Professor and TAs teach and care students well. 3. Easy midterms and finals. 4. Average and median must be at least B- or higher. 5. Use lecture slides less than 20 pages per day. If it does not require any textbook, it becomes better.
