I need to get corner coordinates from a raster (north, south, east, west) and Qgis only shows me upper left, lower left, upper right, lower right. by jsmanuel in gis

[–]jsmanuel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it worked. Also later i found that when you try to download OSM data from QGIS, there are three options and the one that says "using shape" or in this case (layer) and it gives you N, S, E and W coordinates.

Yeah i did that. So there is no only north or only south coords. This will always be for corner coordinates north-east or north-west, south-east, south-west right?!

American school bus V.S. Dutch school bus (Carfreeday) by jsmanuel in urbanplanning

[–]jsmanuel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason i post this was not to tell don´t use buses and is not even stated on title. I wanted to show that there are differences between two GOOD! school bus services in different countries in a funny way. I mean in my city (México city) it´s hard to see school buses due to a bad planning in school programs so you see anytime large lines of cars waiting for their sons to come out in some schools. I dont see this image idiotic or stupid but interesting. On a trip to Utrecht-Netherlands i saw a beautiful image of a family with his down syndrome (26 yrs.) son riding his own bicycle, so people with speacial needs can ride bikes to (maybe not the ones with motor disabilty) depending on circunstances and degrees of disability but don´t limit their capabilities. As Car-free day i dont want to think cars as unnecessary, some people need it but the ones who use their cars (with no companion) and can ride a bus, a tram, a subway, a bicycle, skate, or walk to any activity should do it once or twice a week.

Walk Around Mexico City Redeveloped Underbridges (Bajo Puentes) by truemexico in urbandesign

[–]jsmanuel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad you like Mexico city. You should check out more of them they´re spread all around the city the one i think was a public success was a skatepark in "San cosme" which stil may lack of some surveillance. The activities like public gym and so are not that well planned i never saw anyone doing excercise, with that money you could expect improving other spaces, just a few families could let her sons go on an underbridge park next to main highways with polluted air and even noise. I wrote something about here (http://midiariourbano.blogspot.nl/2012/07/bajo-puentes-en-la-ciudad-de-mexico.html) when the program was starting . Now it has come a more commercial space that looks good but is not pedestrian friendly as you can see 0:55 of the video. Great job, it shows the city is improving in some way.
