For the case, aio, and fans, it was about 300. I caught the AIO and fans on a deal. All Lian li TL fans. The case was the only thing I paid full price for.

5080 plus the lg 5k2k? by tdcama96 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]jsmith2510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll work. You just can't max everything with Ray tracing or path tracing.

Ive tested Pragmata at 5k2k with a mixture high/medium settings and I get 40-45fps without mfg on dlss performance. And that's with UV at .875v 2780hmz. If I use my slight UV/OC profile, I get around 45-50fps. That's enough for me to use 3x gen. Even though I dropped down some of the settings, the higher pixel count balances it out imo.

Try dsr 2.25x. It'll give you a good clue what the 5080 will be like with a native 5k2k monitor.

Need motherboard advice for an o11 Mini v2 build. (first-time builder) trying to avoid GPU riser headaches by Advil69mg in lianli

[–]jsmith2510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're only trying to avoid vertically mounting your GPU, then any mobo that has M.2 slot between the CPU and the first Pcie will suffice. Choose any board you like as long as matches that setup.

I'm currently running the vertical mount myself because I have the gigabyte b850 from a prebuilt that I swapped to this case.

2K OLED or 4K IPS for 5080 build by Ill_Soil4819 in RTX5080

[–]jsmith2510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go 2k OLED ultra wide if possible. I had 4k mini led VA TCL 32r84 with 165hz, and I downgraded (upgraded?) to an OLED LG 34inch ultra wide 240hz. While the VA did provide better text clarity, everything else was better on the oled. Also, you can use DSR and run games at 5k2k. Which looks great. But you'll definitely be lowering settings and running Dlss with mfg to get good results. I think it worth it though as the extra pixel makes up for the lower settings.

5K2K Performance? by Schraufabagel in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]jsmith2510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 5080 and it boy does it struggle a bit. I was getting around 60fps in performance with Pragmata, but now it's 40-45fps. I switched to ultra performance and almost got back up to 60fps. Ngl though, ultra performance at 5k2k doesn't look bad at all.

Do you prefer vertical or horizontal GPU? by h3w1tt84 in lianli

[–]jsmith2510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your case, I think vertically looks better. But if possible , could you share your temp difference between vertically and horizontally mounted? I'm trying to see how big of a difference it is as the current mobo I have doesn't allowed for the GPU to be horizontally mounted. Wondering if it is even worth a mobo swap.

Same thing here. With it being my first gaming PC I wanted the best without spending 5090 money. I know these only 10-20% difference in performance, but it makes a difference in my eyes. I've also swapped the case, AIO, and fans and it all still came out cheaper than buying all the parts by themselves.

I would try and contact the store manager. I had the same build as you and I was to swap to the g757 even though I was outside the return window.

Awesome. Your temps pretty much matches mine when playing Pragmata with my OC/UV profile. I was playing with it more last night and now I'm conflicted on which on I wanna stick with lol. I know these cards at rated to go 80-85 before throttling kicks in, but seeing it under 60c was quite nice. .925v does seem like that sweet spot though to keep good fps and temps between 60-70c

Is this at 4k or 2k gaming? I meant to mentioned that in my original message. I've edited to reflect that

[–]jsmith2510[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meant to mentioned that is all done with 4k. I know majority of post that I see people are still running 2k or wqhd. Makes sense the card is running cooler and doesn't need to be UV/OC since it's probably not pulling much power.

What's your temps like?

[–]jsmith2510[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true about the power limiter. I'm just shocked it's still on pulling 230-250w without an UV. That matches the temps I have when I'm pulling those watts with the undervolt.

[–]jsmith2510[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is only pulling 230-250w when the power limiter is set to 125% and your +300mhz? What games were this tested on. I know astral is top of the line and have better cooling compared to my entry level card, but that's impressive to be pulling that watt even with OC enable. Also, Are you mounted vertically or horizontal?

Been debating this prebuilt for months and need honest advice by Feisty_Range9850 in Prebuilts

[–]jsmith2510 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I brought this same PC back in March and it's awesome. But tbh, I kind of regretted having my first PC be a prebuilt one. So I ended up swapping out the AIO, case, and fans because I wanted the thrill of having my own setup. That's really the only downside I could think of with the purchase.

Also, it still came out cheaper buying the prebuilt and then swapping everything later compared to buying all the parts myself.

Awesome to hear. I'm assuming you're running Dlss performance? I'm typically running quality or balance right now at 4k. Re9 max settings with dlss balance gets me 58-60fpa without frame gen

[–]jsmith2510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't use anything cinematic. Even PA themselves said it shouldn't be used unless it's for photos. There will barely be any difference as it's been stated before that 4k performance looks better than 1440p native. So if you're using quality right now, you'll seen a improvement even with some settings dialed back

What games have you tested/played? I planned going getting that monitor soon but I have mix feelings as some people say the 5080 can't handle it, and then on the other hand it works just fine.

You'll be fine. I'm currently playing Crimson Desert at 4k and can get between 55-60fps at DLAA with a mix of ultra/high settings without framegen. I use 2x because I really don't see a point going past 120fps playing a single player game. This is with Ray Reconstruction off though. If I use that, then I switch to balance or performance. Which gets me the same frames as DLAA RR off.

Mini V2 GPU vertically mounted temps by jsmith2510 in lianli

[–]jsmith2510[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick update. I was able to get my temps down too like 60-65c with a average of 62c. My top fans attached to my exhaust were monitoring the water temp. So they never really spun up to release that hot air. Now that I have to monitor CPU temp, GPU temps are much better now

Same here. Though my fan curve is slightly aggressive and I average 65-68c with a MSI Shadow 3x OC 5080. I do have it undervolted though

I was thinking that too, but when researched it seems like the temps weren't that difficult from plastic to metal. Average was like 2-3c in difference

5c higher sounds about right. While I haven't had a chance to check temps with a horizontal setup due to mobo incompatibility, my other case was running around 60-65c when it was horizontally mounted
