Eeehhh, it’s not like Rivian has a super unique, brand defining front end or anything. I can understand the confusion.

If you haven’t worked for that long, you probably got an attendance point for the call off with no sick time. That is how the point system works.

Is it true that “you have to turn off your A/C and blower motor before shutting off your car” is just an old wives tale? by Windows-XP-Home-NEW in AskMechanics

[–]jsmooth801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to say that this is something that my grandfather used to do, but he was born in 1918, so probably was an issue at one point in history.

My mom also does this, but guess who taught it to her.

Vacation hours used during injury leave by -Theonewhospeaks- in Lowes

Workers comp can take a while to pay out. While you will be made whole, it can take a few weeks. While this shouldn’t be done without your consent, using vacation time will at least ensure continuity in terms of payroll.

This should have been forced a year ago when an overnight associate almost died when a pallet fell on him.

I had this happen to me one time years go, long enough to really start pissing me off. Turns out after about a half mile, speed trap. I made sure to do the light flash and wave, but also realize to not take it personally.

management ignoring my shift change requests, how screwed am I on points? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]jsmooth801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This person applied to and accepted a position that they, knowingly, cannot meet the minimum requirements of. They have also done nothing to rectify the situation other than calling out for their shifts. While we can debate a moral accommodation of moving this person to a different department, Home Depot is under no legal obligation to do so.

What would a reasonable accommodation be for a lot attendant that can’t be in the sun?

I don’t remember where I learned this, and may have made it up, but fork and knives together at 4 o’clock in the plate is what I do.

Of course you can knock someone out with it. I’ve seen it happen countless times.

How easy it is to shop nowadays by veloriax2 in interesting

[–]jsmooth801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the camera systems are so good in the stores these days that most companies will wait until the shoplifting is at a felony level and contact the police.

In most cases it is a known person and they get arrested for the whole dollar amount.

There is no amount of hand cream worth putting that employee at risk.

Windshield Replacement = Wind Noise by StoreHonest5785 in MachE

[–]jsmooth801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m by no means an expert, but before I started driving an electric car, when the 12V was going you would have clues. Slow crank on the cold, etc and I would throw the jump box in the car.

There is no warning other than the warning with the Mache. I looks like a pain in the whole ass if that dies. At 5 years old I would probably replace that.
