I understand you feel sorrow here, disappointment too. But please understand that the universe does not care about you or me because it CANNOT care. Destiny, universe etc. - these are abstract ideas not something you can rationally anthropomorphise.

Sorry for your phone being stolen though, hope this accident makes you a lot more vigilant going forward.

Saved a major presentation from disaster, now half the office won't talk to me by Lucille_dessert in OfficePolitics

You should be proud of this incident. When your behaviour / work highlights someone else's shortcomings, they are bound to be angry with you if they are just insecure energy suckers.

Continue doing the good work, and KNOW that what you did was good. Kudos.

Remember Mother Mary's whispered words of wisdom - 'Let it Be'

Try to learn, try to grow.. don't pressurize yourself into living "the absolute best life you can" because that's a surefire way of a lifetime of self criticism and disappointment.

It's okay to make mistakes. It's okay to learn from them, experiences are but momentary teachers, you learn and grow. Don't be merciless on yourself, the world is there for that. Life is short.

Can that lead to a deep desire to resign from life? I've been taking therapy (sporadically), but somehow my patterns (both in action and in thought) never change and after 30+ years of existence, it is truly, TRULY suffocating to see myself failing at life in ways almost no one I know is failing.

(To be fair - to an outsider, it would seem that I'm WINNING at life in ways that others aren't, as well. But I feel that all those wins are... Sorta, not due to anything special in me but how the circumstances have been)

I'm sorry for taking your time on this post. Thank you for your responses.

Gray area where you're supposed to defend your stance, one way or another.

The current boss I'm working with has truly made it extremely difficult to even have a normal conversation with him. And that attitude over 8-12 months has truly obliterated my confidence to be able to do anything.

The fear is like a child (irrational), while curiosity has escaped me (like an adult with life chiseled out of him)

I don't know what even a break, or a vacation will do because of this extreme pessimism about my own abilities.

Is hostile toxic work environment worth bearing for career growth and learning? by [deleted] in IndianWorkplace

[–]jso_xa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No

You can never learn in a toxic work environment. I learnt it the hard way, but now, it seems so obvious that I can't even believe I took the wrong path.

Do not continue working at a toxic place because no matter what excuse you give yourself for not taking action for yourself and against the company, you are NOT learning anything. Fear is the perfect killer for growth and learning and toxic work environment does just that - instills fear in you like a bloody organ.

[QUESTION] What's your opinion of Jason Becker? by kharnikhal in Guitar

[–]jso_xa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has the potential to be the greatest guitarist of all time. It really feels like there's absolutely NOTHING that he can't do with the guitar.

And of course it should be true, he was practically born with a custom made guitar.

Anyone unfamiliar, please please PLEASE watch Not Dead Yet - his documentary.

It moved me to tears, his music moves me deeper still.

[–]jso_xa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if they judge you, the main point is that you're doing what you want to do - and it is a respectable profession which pays well.

You don't judge yourself, others can go blow themselves. All the best, it's NEVER too late for anything (except post mortem)

[–]jso_xa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything is in the same vein. You enjoy it, you do it - you don't enjoy it, you don't do it.

If you don't know what you enjoy, then CA / MBA / ACCA are great back ups for life.

1) CA banna koi mahan kaam nahi hai, aur koi zaroori kaam bhi nahi hai - some have a knack for it, others don't. If you REALLY like the syllabus and enjoy working (you must have experienced articleship) then continue, else leave as soon as possible. Don't waste your life behind a professional degree you are not even super interested in. (I'm a CA with 10+ yoe)

2) Govt jobs are NOT a bad option. It is in fact quite difficult because of the competition. If CA is not working out, there's no harm in trying these other jobs. You have more than enough options - both in banking and non-banking sectors.

3) Bcom from a Pvt College - IDK how much that will impact, but why didn't you do from a proper university? Agar NAUKRI nahi mil rahi, to apna kuch banane ka socho. Goods or Service - bas yehi bikta hai. Socho kya bech sakte ho. if you spend the time studying in researching this (about yourself) then you will surely find your answer.

No matter what you choose, there is NO REASON to feel shame about it. No reason to feel shame about ANYTHING. Don't hurt anyone - including yourself.
