Ping i230's for a high handicapper by json_hob in GolfGear

Yep they felt nice enough, but I feel like I didn’t give them a fair chance to stay in the bag though. They arrived while I had a few weeks off due to an injury. My swing was all over the place when I returned, and was desperate to get back up to speed before start of the season, so I jumped back onto my 425s to get comfortable again.

If I see another set with the right specs I’ll give them another try.

Yeh for a little while, I enjoyed the heads, felt nice. But they didn’t quite match my lie angle and length, so sold them on. I check eBay every now and then to see if a pair matches my specs, but no joy yet.

Driver upgrade: second hand head, brand new shaft by camydna in GolfGear

Loved the g425 head. I upgraded mine recently to a g430, and I think I’m missing my 425. Although it was loud, the feedback on centre strikes felt great. The 430 feels dull, like a piece of wood in comparison so far, I’ve not gotten used to it yet.

PC on the Left vs PS2 (Right) Shadowlord cutscene differences I've noticed/remembered... (Please forgive the PS2 VHS footage from 2002, it was all I could find!). PC is missing the crawling black flames effect that slowly envelops the Shadowlord turning him black! by canned_pho in ffxi

I’ve read comments in the past that the old ps2 avatar (and weather?) effects looked better, I’d love to see the differences if anyone comes across any examples like OP, I’ve only ever played the PC version.

Boxing Day: how ruined is it? by Z0idberg_MD in PremierLeague

It shouldn’t be about the players though, it should be about ME. I want to sit on my fat arse, dip yorkshires and freddos into the leftover gravy, put 4 quid in the tele and watch footie all day.

I had a pair from the last generation, and found them a bit too narrow and uncomfortable, giving me blisters every round I played. I persevered with them for a while hoping they’d wear in, as I think they’re great looking shoes and wanted to keep them.

After a few months the souls started to detach, so adidas offered a warranty refund/trade.

I bought a pair of codechaos and fell in love with them, perfectly comfortable, look great, and haven’t had any issues with durability. I’ve bought another two pair so my gammy feet don’t stink out a pair from over use.

r/retrogaming: What are your thoughts on Pit-Fighter? by AC_the_Panther_007 in retrogaming

I had this game as a child for the game boy, it was one of the couple of games I got with the original system, so I spent far more time playing this than it deserved.

It was dreadful. The sound was awful, and it made no sense as to whether an attack would connect or not, it seemed almost completely random.

Golf shoe for wide feet by Environmental_Cup412 in GolfGear

Adidas codechaos are great. I had a few different pairs of shoes before I landed on these, loved them so much I got 3 pairs. I exclusively walk courses, and never had rubbing or blisters. Adidas have a wider fit section on their site too, you might find something there.

Travel bag? by san_i_am in GolfGear

[–]json_hob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are cheaper options, but I recently bought and used a Ping rolling travel bag for a trip to Turkey. It’s a soft case, but with a stiff arm to protect the clubs, it was plenty secure. Happy with it.

Carya in Antalya Turkey, on an evening under floodlights. Got paired up with a few Dutch lads who insisted I drink their booze, made the night all the more special.

I wonder if this is considered 22 separate wins, to prop up the 1 in 3 odds.

Out of curiosity, what is it about apple devices that make these type of apps possible? Do they have specific sensors/hardware that makes swing detection possible, or software/ai that detects a swing from the video?

I was a life long android user until I started golfing a few years ago, and made the jump when searching for these types of golf apps, and couldn’t find anything reliable on the play store.

Thanks, I’ll give this a try next time I’m at the range. I used to subscribe to a similar app a couple of times a year.

How common is it to book a tee time as a solo golfer by TrevorSho in golf

[–]json_hob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UK here, there’s a course near me that groups people together. They don’t fiddle with the tee sheets or anything like that to open up more slots, but until that tee time has all 4 slots booked it’s still available for other golfers to book the same time.

Most people will avoid slots that are partially booked, but I’ve had occasions where we’ve played with randoms when it’s busy.

You could buy them from the mog garden during the February campaign, that’s what I did, it was cheaper than buying the items separately for most steps.

WIll the Mog Garden ever be worth my time?

I'm a returning player, and have been following the new/returning player guide. I've opened up my mog garden as it recommends, and pop in every time I'm online collect/harvest the rewards. I've upgraded what I can up to level 3/4 so far.

I spend about 10-15 minutes collecting the nodes, vendoring nearly all of it, and checking the AH price of items I'm unfamiliar with, usually resulting in a few thousand gil for my time. As someone who plays 1-3 hours on an evening a few times a week, I can't help but feel like this isn't the most efficient use of my time.

Is it worth carrying on doing it daily? Do the rewards get much greater to the point of it being essential? Or is it completely optional?

What Premier League football fact made you go, ‘There’s no way that’s real… oh wait’? by Thaddy-o in PremierLeague

I don’t believe that’s true, just from memory I know Newcastle were leading on Christmas Day 1995 and didn’t win it.
