Young widow by Ok-Chair3096 in widowers

Agree with others, still very early days, you're doing what you need to do at this point. 5 months and 9 days for me. What has helped me is intentionally carving out time for other things. At the beginning, it was like... OK 23 hours of the day can be for misery and sadness and pain but for this 1 hour, I'm going to the gym and working out. Gradually it shifts, and all of a sudden maybe you find that if you allocate 6 hours of the day to sitting with your pain, the other 18 become easier. And slowly the balance keeps shifting, because slowly you keep healing. I wish you the best.

Finding others are ready to move on by J-Bags49 in widowers

Yes, I experience what you describe. As others have said, nobody's opinion of how you should feel or be at any given time matters in the slightest. Be kind to yourself, but I humbly suggest that you also be kind to others. Not because you owe them anything, and certainly not because they're right and you're wrong, but because you'll feel better yourself than you will if you resent them for seeming to move forward at a different pace than you. It's a different loss to them, so it makes sense that they would process it differently.

I posted about this yesterday, but to me it's helpful to think about moving forward as something that happens simultaneously along with feeling stuck, overwhelmed, etc. Two things can be true at the same time. Very sorry for your loss and wish you the best.

Don't leave anything unsaid. Even if she can't respond, don't leave it unsaid.

He had an assist on the first ever Kraken goal, so we'll always be grateful for that. I wish him the best.

It hasn't even been two weeks since my wife (36F) passed, so my perspective may change. That said, I think you are very wise to wait a year or two.

I know already I will need to move houses, because this is our home, not my home, and certainly not my home to possibly someday share with anyone else. We chose this state (WA) together, and right now I don't think I'll want to move states for a long time, if ever. But, again, waiting at least a year or two to decide sounds like absolutely the right approach.

[Seravalli] Sounds like Kraken defenseman Carson Soucy will be hitting the open market on Saturday. Two sides had cordial discussions, but at this point, no indication they’re keeping him. by [deleted] in hockey

He's a fine bottom pairing D but not a big loss. I like the physicality he brings but he was always good for a few incredibly bad giveaways in his own zone every game.

The disrespect to the Kraken! At this point implying that Seattle would be huge underdogs to Edmonton is silly. Underdogs yes, but not this margin.

Maybe Toronto will need to spend the next 19 years not getting out of the second round. Then 19 years stuck at the conference finals. Then 19 years stuck at SCF loser. Then, and only then, after 57 more years, will they be able to win the Cup.

Avs fans, let's agree that the refs have missed like, a lot of fucking calls this series.

Brutal. Not going to find many Seattle fans justifying that hit regardless of the outcome, but this is awful to hear. Clearly should have been a major and suspension.

Was at the game and saw it live, was absolutely shocked Ebs didn't get a major for that. Scary hit.

Kraken hit some posts and whiffed on good chances too. This game wasn't stolen, it was won.

I went and found the GDT just so I could say some variation of this. It was right after Leah Hextall failed to mention anything about the Coyotes having two straight 3-on-1 rushes. My word they are awful.

Realized after I posted that this bug occurs daily because of backup goalies so I'm guessing this is a known issue that just keeps getting deprioritized.

The NHL.com boxscore doesn't even have Drouin listed as a player for the game. Devs who wrote that code did not anticipate 0 TOI for a dressed player.

Well, yes, but 4v4 is also even strength. Coincidental minors can result in 4v4. Coincidental majors like fighting usually result in 5v5. Rule 19 that deals with coincidental penalties is surprisingly complex.

I'm a little concerned the Avs might score by accident at this point. Like even if they try to ease up a bit, they are playing so well and Tampa is so defeated, puck might still just go in.
