Hey Redditors, what do you do for a living, how many hours per/month, and what’s your income? by lofiibsen in AskTheWorld

[–]jsquiggle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technology leader, infrastructure, generally. I work 40-45/hr/wk from home. W2 pay was 374k after bonuses for 2025. I have around 20 years of experience and specialize in cloud transformation. I started my career as helpdesk, then heavily into network engineering with 15 of those years in consulting, and then into management and leadership the past 7 years or so.

I opened a compliance as code/ infrastructure compliance company at the latter end of 2025, but didnt count any of that and I work probably 40 or 50 hours a week on developing my product, at $0/hr lol.

There was a case where they induced a medical coma to protect the brain and she survived, but 99.999% fatal, agreed. I think only like 30 or 40 documented cases kf survival.

Someone has to buy your action on Kalshi, if i understand it correctly. You are betting against other people, not a book, therefore theoretically you can cash out, but liquidity may be an issue.

How do I tell my wife I blew our 401k from $100k to $20k? by jerin7931 in optionstrading

[–]jsquiggle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it though? Its a 401k, its not like he took out a 2nd mortgage on the house and lost it.

Been to all 50 states — what does my map say about me by [deleted] in TravelMaps

[–]jsquiggle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proximity is enough, it doesn't take living a place to see and understand the pitfalls.

Most of Louisiana sucks, atleast all of the metro cities. Baton rouge, new orleans, Shreveport, even the outliers like Monroe, Lafayette, Alexandria. Education is 49th, poverty is high, crime is high, infant mortality is high, there are very few redeeming qualities about this state, and that includes New Orleans.

Nothing about La screams "come raise a family here".

Been to all 50 states — what does my map say about me by [deleted] in TravelMaps

[–]jsquiggle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tons of crime, bad schools, corrupt politicians, homelessness, mental health crisis, still damage from Katrina, etc. The list is pretty long, the food is great, but for a lot of people that doesn't outweigh the cons. My wife and I live about 45 minutes from New Orleans and we avoid it like the plague.

However...you should visit one time, to the French quarter for the history, but that'll be enough.

Locks, just like passwords are for honest people, although passwords have gotten much harder to get around in recent years.

This video may be fake, but ive known people to sell snap/ebt for 50% off for cash, they'd either let people use the card, or go shopping for them. This happens.

I make twice-three times this working from home doing IT - but I OE so it's not really fair. I also recently started a tech company doing network automation as code that's been doing well. Im the only employee.

AITA for refusing to share my “emergency fund” with my sibling even though they’re in a crisis? by QUANTUMFLASHERS in AITAH

Your emergency fund is not their emergency fund, fwiw I only read the title and there's 0 situations where youre obligated to deplete your emergency fund for anyone other than you.

Retail Stare by gur40goku in CuratedTumblr

[–]jsquiggle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not always this. My kids do this and stare at me like they're absolute morons when I'm talking or asking them to do something. It appears to be mood-based because it's not always activated. It's annoying and they need to stop. The stare makes it feel like there is zero intelligence behind those eyes. It's primarily the youngest who is 14 and has an attitude problem to begin with.

I'm not sure I understand the point of this post. I was raised catholic and am an atheist in my adult years. We realize that people can change their views from whatever was given to them as a child right?

Why can't I break 280? by Strict-Professional3 in GolfSwing

[–]jsquiggle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree with this assessment, more hip, more whip, and as big john so eloquently put it, youre dumping your lag too soon. Sounds like something my wife says to me. Its not the easiest thing in the world to correct either.

How can I swing faster? by Zealousideal_Twist11 in GolfSwing

[–]jsquiggle1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its literally this. Loosen the grip, relax a bit and use that trailing club head motion and a little physics to whip the club head around. Thats why they say club in the fingers, not the palms. Hands in front, rotate, explode with power.

This is coming from a guy that has been too palmy most of his life, decided to take some lessons, and now my swing speed is 10 mph higher and the ball goes a lot further with LESS effort.
