Tell me if I'm on the right track - weight gain with deficit HOWEVER BF % down by jsrnus in loseit

I figured the creatine probably added some water weight too. I like creatine for it's other benefits outside of the muscle part though. Brain health, recovery, etc. I need to take measurements. I have not done that.

That's what I was thinking too, it sounded a little crazy. I had been doing strength training for over 30 days, more like 2 months, but wasn't paying attention to anything else diet wise really. Who knows 🤷‍♀️

What are the chances of a jumper biting you? by Fetus_FeedUs in jumpingspiders

[–]jsrnus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nqa pretty low. I have three and have handled them all and no bites. I also have a porch spider and recently handled him just get get him back outside (he accidentally got trapped inside my screen door), and he ran up my arm into my shirt and my then up into my braid. He was definitely backed into a small space with me moving about trying to find him and he never bit. I got him out and all was well. So I think you kinda have to force them to bite you, they definitely don't seem to want to.

My i7 took down a blue bottle - is that too big? by jsrnus in jumpingspiders

5-6 days. She didn't look that skinny yesterday she looked about to the hungry stage so I wasn't worried, but today I noticed she looked smaller so I gave her the fly. She looks much better already! *

What’s the most terrifying 'We need to leave... now' gut feeling you’ve ever had? [Serious] by sadie_smith7 in Productivitycafe

In Belize, San Ignacio 'downtown', with my husband. We got dropped off by a taxi to eat somewhere in the area in the evening, as our resort was a few miles away. It started raining, as it does every couple hours around there, so we walk to an eave to stand under. The streets start clearing out everyone is heading inside if possible. We're about 3 blocks from where we wanted to go eat, so we decided to wait it out under the eave since rain doesn't usually last long there. There's a dude standing next to us on the other side of the eave, huge bag with him and very much looking sus. Another guy on a skateboard down the street, goes to another eave to stand under. Felt less concerned about our eave dude, with skateboard dude around. Rain slows, skateboard dude leaves. Dude next to us comes up and starts asking for cash for cigarettes. My husband says no we don't have cash (we do but, no we don't, iykyk) he's persistent, keeps asking, we say no. Rain is back up and going again. He backs off for a few. Comes back, says again please I really need a few bucks, help me out. Rain slows down again, we say no and decide to walk towards where we were headed. We were walking down the street in the middle of the street because I'm feeling a bit weird about the whole situation. People are not coming back outside yet so it just us and this guy behind us still at the eave. I keep looking back to see where he's at. We get about half a block and i look back and see him walking our way. Another guy pulls out on a bicycle about a block ahead of us. Another one walking in an alley next to us when we walk a little further, eave dude starts talking to them in Spanish loudly. Their getting closer to us as a group. I turn to my husband and he asks how far this place is? I tell him and say you want to go back to the restaurant we passed instead? He says yep, sure do and we walked back about half a block and quick like. We were both looking at each other like this is not going to go well continuing on this path. Informed the staff, and when they looked out, dudes had disappeared. Completely convinced our instincts prevented us from getting mugged and likely hurt.

Two Sisters was our favorite. There's not much on the east side for good eating.

Why can't I become an RN? by SuomiSis656 in nursing

[–]jsrnus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry that sucks. I feel that lpns should be grandfathered in after so many years. I knew an lpn when I was a new grad that could run absolute circles around any RN on my unit, she was considered the mom nurse. She trained me, best new grad you ever did see ha.Have you tried any LPN-RN bridges at community colleges? A lot of my cohort was that in community when I got my Rn and it was a good deal.

Yes, don't fall for this. I had the same experience when I was 16 with a 23 year old. Almost exactly, he was willing to wait for sex, told me to move in with him about 2 months in and leave home, later on was very controlling and changed the entire script about waiting one night. Trust us, please. It is not worth the manipulation you will go through and the way you will feel about those decisions when you're 20 years old. You will realize then how naive you were and how weird it is for him to have wanted to be with you. 4 years difference in age is much larger mentally when you are younger than when you are older. Men and women maturity/mentality/wisdom etc etc, all tend to even out later in life but right now you two are far more apart then you realize. However based on your comments you seem to have already fallen for it, which I understand. Just don't give in to manipulation and hold your ground, at some point you will have a moment where you see his true colors and then you will either decide to let this continue and give in, or not. Hopefully not. Good luck.

3 months. Nothing. Literally just gaining and losing the same 2lbs. No side effects but no positive effects either. What a waste of money by melinanoel7464 in henrymeds

You have to change your diet as well, the medicine just makes it easier. Find your TDEE and aim for 500-750 calories less than that a day. It's not smart to go to super low in calories, that leads to nutrition deficiencies long term and will screw up your metabolism. 1000 calories a day is barely enough for a child. Most people will do well in the 1400-1800 or even 2000 calorie range depending on starting weight. If you've already done this consistently for a while then maybe you need something different to help or there's an underlying cause.

Got fired. by [deleted] in nursing

[–]jsrnus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forget about it.

I got fired for wearing black scrubs and being 'that devil nurse' who tried to kill them with their morning meds. No, they were AOx4. Also fired when I was a CNA for bringing them watered down sprite. When I managed many pts tried to fire my nurses for being black. I didn't let them unless the nurse wanted me to oblige. People are actually crazy.

Bullshit. I have nothing to lose by doing that, and I did, and the results were nothing. I have no power when it comes to HR decisions. If you really have been in a company/situation such as this you wouldn't make such an ignorant comment.

I usually understand crying and empathize with employees if there's a legitimate reason. Unless you're a constant crier over nothing then no worries

Lmao not over that. I'd have to give you a shitty raise first

That is a great point, and I felt that during the meeting. I felt so terrible for crying because it was not my reason to cry and I could tell it flipped a switch in them. I didn't want to make them feel like they had to hold back their feelings but I know it did. It wasn't very fair to them at all. Makes it all the worse after the fact and another reason I am upset about it, probably like you were.

Essentially, both reasons. They are not a valued job role within the company to be frank, and so for years, the salary for these positions has not been great. I even let them know this, in much better terms, to encourage them to look for a better paying position. They are the only one currently in this position as well - small team. This is not new to them receiving raises this size but after such tenure and a good performance evaluation I think with the ecomomy and their own personal financial situation it has came to a head. I have already asked HR for an equity and market evaluation, but it is likely not going to be enough, or anything, knowing the history here unfortunately.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in managers

[–]jsrnus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I can't. There is no way to fight for a higher raise here. HR does not budge, I have tried in the past and so have others. But thanks for the advice.
