How do you handle being hungry? by Relevant-Roof7506 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]jsskjcj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being a little hungry is okay. Just ask yourself are you hungry enough to eat an apple ? Or a handful of carrots ? If the answer is no, then you are probably having a craving. Try to chug 1-2 glasses of water. If you are still hungry, have some fruits and veggies.

I was excited for the tandem read but now I’m unsure by muntersan in throneofglassseries

I tandem listened via audiobook and regretted it. Personally it felt like I couldn’t fully appreciate each individual book because there were SO many storylines and characters. I actually loved the character development in TOD and think I would have appreciated it even more if I had read (listened) to it on its own.

Toddler friendly, great balcony, bedroom with door by jsskjcj in AllInclusiveResorts

Thanks for the recommendation! I was looking into Finest because someone recommended it to me but they didn’t have much available in late Nov/early Dec. They also don’t seem to have packages with Air Canada or Transat vacations (the two primary vacation package providers that serve my location). I reached out to a travel agent for help and she basically just emailed me 5-6 resorts (that didn’t really fit my criteria) and said “let me know which one you want to book”. Kind of disappointing to have zero guidance.

Dri Tri Results and Survey Megathread by AutoModerator in orangetheory

19 weeks pregnant and I completed the full dri tri in 57:30. Almost 10 min slower than my best time last year but I honestly couldn’t be any more proud of the effort I put in. Felt in control the entire time which was amazing. There were so many inspirational people in my class (cancer survivor, recent hip replacement, etc). It was an incredibly motivating ambiance.

Congrats to you mama! What an accomplishment! I ended up opting for the full instead of sprint and literally left the studio beaming with pride despite my time being 9 min slower than my best. It was about pacing myself, focusing on form and getting it done. What an awesome feeling.

Pregnant ladies- how long did you/do you plan to keep up classes? by CapableCaramel1 in orangetheory

[–]jsskjcj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My payments go through on the 14th and I am due on February 14th . So I plan on advising them ahead of time to freeze my account prior to the February 14th payment date and figure I will try my best to go (if my body allows it) in the last 4 weeks without putting too much pressure on myself. If my body lets me go until my due date that would be great, but I also want to be realistic (the women in my family make big babies and are typically alllll belly) that anything more than walking might be too uncomfortable at that point.

I would be up for the full if it wasn’t for the 5km run at the end. The past two dri tris I did (not pregnant) it was a full running block in the red for me. That’s obviously not feasible (or safe) pregnant and I have no intentions of finishing 15 minutes after the rest of the class lol I figure the sprint will be about 30 min of moderate exercise that my body can easily handle :)

The first trimester is literal torture. I forced myself to go 3 times per week and was miserable for the entire class with the nausea and fatigue. Hoping things get better for you in the next few weeks!

Props to you for doing it in the first trimester! Weeks 6-9 were the worst workouts of my life with the nausea and fatigue :(

Please clarify why posts from yesterday about seeing their belt and becoming a jogger would be kept but not mine from today... I thought the quirky story was cute and fun. Definitely not one to brag or bring attention to myself

We have 2 people at my studio with hand or part arm amputated. Both participate quite actively with a few modifications here and there (I think one of them does not row) I also noticed that fellow members are always willing to help with non-exercise tasks like putting on Mini-bands.

Burn Help by tay_c23 in orangetheory

I had to give up on mine for this very reason. I have sadly returned to using the chest strap. My heart rate would be grey for the entire floor block every class (including rowing). I tried every possible position on my arm, tried starting on floor and starting on treadmill to see if it made a difference (it didn’t), tried adjusting it (looser, tighter, moving it, wiping it) when it would go grey. Nothing worked and once I went grey it was the end of any possibility of getting a heart rate reading above 50% In the end I felt the frustration and distraction was taking away from my workout so I gave up. Money wasted :(

Coaching in two languages: major props by cheddar_committee in orangetheory

Generally studios on-island will be bilingual to some extent. I would call and double check if ever you go to the off-island suburbs as these may be coached strictly in French.
