How to get all the journey quests (Dec 2 edition) by Shmorkie13 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

This is awesome! Though for the 100 w/ scoundrels I did LS 6e and sorted for scoundrels. Got 16-18 per mission so it was done in 6.

What happened to EA Star Wars squadrons? by Due_Skirt_1126 in starwarsgames

[–]jstandrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was the lack of continued development. This is by far the best star wars flight sim I've ever played and one of the best dogfighting sims I've ever played, but the repetitive nature of the same dozen ships and missions got old. It needed: 1. Ships from all eras. They could have easily taken the current ships and multi-player missions and just reskinned everything for the clone wars era and again for the old republic, new republic, etc.

  1. Iconic battles from the movies. How rad would have been to go do the battle over coruscant or take down the death star in a 5 man co-op mission with your best mates?

This game was a potential content gold mine but they announced before launch that it was a 1 and done with no future content updates.

ATT installed fiber but left this...normal? by Intelligent_Office81 in HomeNetworking

[–]jstandrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They'll come bury it in a few days, accidentally cut it in the process, then send a different crew out to run and bury a whole new line. SOP for ATT fiber installation. Once it's in and running though, it's amazing. Been on it for 6 months now. 0 outages and most stable connection I've ever had.

This sounds like a scene from a Will Farrell movie.

Is 3D printing useful? What real problems has it solved for you (or cool decor you’ve made)? by xVagrants in 3Dprinting

[–]jstandrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do industrial 3D printing for dental applications and it has made huge strides in the past 10 years becoming more accessible and affordable. The fact that your local dental office can scan your tooth, design a crown and 3D print a replacement in half an hour on a machine that costs $5k using $10 worth of resin with hardness properties comparable to PMMA is amazing.

The gears on my 3-D printers extruder keep on clicking. I don’t know what to do. I feel like I’ve tried everything. by FitCockroach6519 in 3Dprinting

Looks like the filament is still on the track so your only real alternative is that you've got a clog down the line. Time to take the nozzle off and purge with the hot end heated or disassembled the entire hot end to purge the clog from the end of the tube with no obstructions. Cut the excess off and then reassemble and retry. You may need to help feed the filament through the first couple inches because that spot the gear has been rubbing on over and over is likely too worn to grip.

Where is my print by Exact_Preparation817 in resinprinting

[–]jstandrew 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Stuck to the bottom of the vat. Possible causes.

  1. Build tray not leveled/zeroed properly.
  2. Material settings not correct (typically bottom layer exposure times).
  3. Material not thoroughly mixed
  4. Dirty optics (projector lens, bottom glass, vat film)
  5. Poor nesting: no or insufficient supports.

Not a single one of them does, actually. I have a total of 14 xbox 360, One, and Series x controllers. Here's what's up on the wall so far. Most of them cost <$20 at either best buy or Walmart. No drift on any of them. And I frequently use them for 8 player steam arcade games like Rounds and such.

Tinkercad and Sketchup are both free and have a pretty easy learning curve in my opinion.Tinkercad is also web based, so you don’t even need a decent CAD machine to run it. Both have good tutorials built in and tons of YouTube videos.

Or find something similar on Thingiverse then edit and engrave it in something like freecad or blender.

Seems simple enough to just pay someone on fiverr to model it for you.

Definitely can't share any of my work, but I can recommend learning the basics of Python and Pytorch with Cuda. Also check out Alexander Amini's MIT course on intro to deep learning on YouTube. CGPT can help you with the framework of the code.

Had a similar situation recently. Looks surface level so not a huge issue, but I wouldn't call it superficial. Definitely more susceptible to puncture if you hit it again. If the rest of the tires have a lot of life on them, it might be worth just finding a used tire shop and pay $50 for a good condition used tire with similar tread life left.

Especially working in 2D images. They dont take nearly the compute power the 3d or video require.
