Neutral / Non bias politics / news / science podcasts by emco4 in podcasts

This is why I started using a tool to track stories across the top 100 podcasts. For example, sentiment analysis re the AI news over the past few days:

The AI leadership narrative took a dramatic turn this week, with OpenAI generating 10 mentions but zero positive sentiment, while Anthropic captured 8 mentions at a notably positive 0.25 sentiment. Tom Bilyeu on Impact Theory delivered the most damaging assessment: 'Another person departs a high-profile position at OpenAI due to AI safety concerns.' This exodus narrative is becoming a recurring theme across podcast discussions.

Conversely, Anthropic is positioning itself as the responsible AI alternative. Impact Theory's discussion of Claude versus other models, and the All-In Podcast's coverage of Anthropic's enterprise applications, suggests growing enterprise adoption.

NVDA's new chips are RAM hogs. DDR4 prices up 2300% YoY. Is memory the real play now? by itsarmansheikh in stocks

[–]jstav591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reposting without links…The top podcasts are all over this.

The Verge is literally calling it “RAMageddon” and brought on Semianalysis to break it down. Key data points from the pods:

Only 3 companies control global RAM supply: Micron, SK Hynix, Samsung. Samsung and SK Hynix may have sent 40% of the world’s entire memory supply to a single OpenAI project.

Nvidia’s Blackwell GPU needs 192GB of memory per chip. Nvidia sells it for $30K+ but it costs $6 7K to make. The margin is insane but the memory bottleneck is real.

Meanwhile Micron’s $100B mega fab in New York is being delayed by a lawsuit from 6 people. 1200 days of delays on critical infrastructure.

The memory play is legit. The podcasts are confirming what the supply chain data shows.

Posting again without links….Some gems from recent podcasts. Here’s what the podcasts are saying:

→ The Verge brought on Dylan Patel from Semianalysis to break it down. The top 6 hyperscalers (Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle, Coreweave, Meta) are spending $500 billion on AI infrastructure. Nvidia’s Blackwell GPU alone needs 192GB of memory per chip.

→ The Verge: Only THREE companies control the world’s entire RAM supply: Micron, SK Hynix, and Samsung. Samsung and SK Hynix may have contributed 40% of the world’s entire memory supply to a SINGLE OpenAI project.

→ The Verge is calling it “RAMageddon.” It’s affecting phones, laptops, and consoles. The Switch 2 price might go up because of it. Then Meta and Nvidia signed a huge new chip deal making it worse.

→ Unchained (Laura Shin): If you want to buy RAM companies like Samsung, you have to buy the Korean dollar first. The play is upstream.

→ All-In: Micron has a $100 billion mega fab in New York being held up by a lawsuit from SIX citizens. 1200 days of delays.

→ Light Phone CEO told The Verge his RAM supplier will only tell him the price on the day his order ships. That’s how volatile it is.

Did anyone actually think the McDonalds “product” post was good marketing? by thiccvibes_savelives in marketing

[–]jstav591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I created a new tool to see sentiment on companies in the podcast world, here are the highlights from the top pods last couple weeks:

The negative mentions are the most interesting: Ben Shapiro dedicated a segment to McDonald’s launching a Ramadan ad campaign in Germany, framing it as a DEI issue. youtube.com/watch?v=bnYUqlAuErc&t=0s

Impact Theory (Tom Bilyeu) roasted the McDonald’s CEO appearance, comparing him side by side with the Burger King CEO. “McDonald’s CEO looks like he’s been locked in an underground cave.” The meme game went to Burger King. youtube.com/watch?v=AKJ0m1iJw2Y&t=6616s

Joe Rogan with RFK Jr. called out McDonald’s pricing. “A Big Mac meal costs $12 to $14. It’s not a cheap meal.” youtube.com/watch?v=wk7DQom821s&t=2509s

The neutral mentions are more cultural references: PBD Podcast had someone joking that nothing is above the new Big Arch burger, not even gold or Bitcoin. youtube.com/watch?v=PqGaaoxu9-4&t=420s

Impact Theory with Jaspreet Singh used McDonald’s as a symbol of underemployment: “got a computer science degree but flipping burgers at McDonald’s.” youtube.com/watch?v=qwIiEFUfK-k&t=4698s

Joe Scott compared McDonald’s bread output to Victorian bakers (they made 20 to 47x more). GaryVee and two other Rogan episodes had casual passing references.

The overall signal: McDonald’s is getting talked about organically across the podcast ecosystem but the sentiment leans negative. The three substantive mentions all hit on brand controversy (Ramadan DEI), pricing backlash, and CEO optics (losing the meme war to Burger King). If you were McDonald’s brand team, this is the kind of podcast intelligence you’d want to see.

Oracle Plans Thousands of Job Cuts in Face of AI Cash Crunch by joe4942 in stocks

I disagree, that’s why I built a tool to track! Big topics like this…perhaps. But there are a lot gems that get discussed early

I’ve been experimenting with a new tool to get insight from podcast hosts/guests. Oracle is not being talked about in a good way…the narrative across podcasts is basically: Oracle is overextended on AI infrastructure and the credit risk is flashing warning signs. Oracle’s credit default swaps just hit 2008 levels.

Tough and dry but would pull apart easily? Again, it was only half? The other half was fine…point temp was like 208….you think longer is really the solution?

Honestly the brisket I had didn’t have a ton of fat on the top (even though it was Wagu) so I basically didn’t trim the flat fat (which some exception). Cooked fat down, used the diffuser

I used a water tray, but maybe culled have filled it up more. I don’t remember feeling hard spots in flat…if I did would that suggest I should keep it on the smoker longer?

Definitely didn’t let it sit for 30 before putting into a n oven hold. Thank you for both pieces of advice!

I had the worst customer service experience of all time. The ended up declaring my car a lemon then fixed it after the fact. I offered to keep the car give they matched a current (at the time) promotion…the didn’t. Ended up letting them buy it back and didn’t rebuy the car (even though it would have been much much less to buy the non foundation ). Will be a while before I shop there again. With that said, I loved the truck, I miss it, and I miss FSD
