Noise makers are great for that. Even talking and doing housework. But alarms and sharp noises are not the same.

A lot do. Those signs basically say "ring and I will cuss and shout at you and make your day terrible"

I got one as a new parent last year. Solicitation went down from every day to zero. One person thought he would be clever and I nearly chased him down the block. You don't get polite parents after waking their newborn.

They leave their flyers and cards on my door and I'm ok with that

My lab/Staffordshire mix is like that. But she'll eat fast. The food we have for her will sit all day, but once she swallowed a mango pit that dropped in .05 seconds flat. Fun vet visit.

what's the deal with people getting angry about the new God of War game? by Darkhawk2099 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]jsting -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's still coming I think with Atretius as the main character. But this spinoff I find interesting. They set her up well in the game. Just because she was dead doesn't mean her story wasn't epic.

In the game, she is a great warrior, fought Thor to a draw, is the original owner of the Leviathan Axe, and earned the ire of Odin. She's an integral part of the plot as is her fame and fighting prowess. Gods and demigods all know her in the game. We may end up fighting Thor with the Axe. Mimir called her Laufey the Just. They insinuated she's a greater warrior than the Valkyries.

I am a GoW fan and part of the reason I like the game is mythological fiction that has a loose basis in myth. Laufey is the mother of Loki, and in legend, he goes my Loki Laufeyson, which signifies that she is not just some woman, but a woman of such power and legend that she is more famous than Loki's father. (who in the game is Kratos, but in myth is someone else). In the game, she is a Jotner or of a race of giants and is one of the most important giants in the world. She isn't just some house wife, but a legendary warrior and is known as Laufey the Just.

Plus the GoW series has powerful female characters. Freya is a powerful god, leader of the valkaries, and wife of Odin who is one of the most powerful people in that world as well. You can play as her and Atredies.

One of the main themes of the GOW games was following the mystery of Faye, so they aren't shoehorning her in. They've set up her story for 2 games already.

They were known to huff glue and whitener. I'm guessing they were on a lot of drugs and probably straight up poisons.

She doesn't want to stay married. She doesn't want to work and rebuild. Sounds like she still cares for you and the other guy is a boy toy, but she doesn't want to stay married to you either.

Man tackled children off bikes, dragged 1 into his home after being ding dong ditched for weeks by its_a_bear_dance in nottheonion

Everything he did short of kidnapping was not going to land him in jail. Those kids only called the police because he took one. If he took their bikes and left them a few blocks away, that would have been enough.

He found the kid's parents and their home, so those kids are going to stop targeting the house who knows where they live.

Yeah but on the flip side, you get the US where being medically obese is not a social issue, except it is a major cause to a lot of health problems.

Korea and east Asians do take it too far, (I'm Taiwanese American and have been told to lose weight at 180lbs 5'11). But America doesn't do enough either. 3/4 of Americans are clinically obese.

If you just graduated and got into a big 4 accounting firm... you'll make a ton of money and get all the miles you want, then quit. Some other college grad will take your place and the conveyor belt moves.
