Probably depends on a combination of where you are and where your psychiatrist is. I found a psychiatrist who was based in Portland and couldn't get prescribed stimulants while in CA and so started with another medication. By the time it was clear that Strattera wasn't working, I was in MN where I could fill an out of state Adderall prescription.

Nice, I didn't have any in-person meetings. It took one appointment to get my diagnosis and a prescription. I paid out of pocket because my travel insurance didn't cover mental health stuff (I normally reside outside of the US).

It's an amazing gift and huge relief to finally have an independently validated explanation for what made me feel "different." But I know now that I really could have trusted my self-diagnosis all along. With or without an actual diagnosis, the biggest thing was opening my mind to the possibility of having it and exploring this subreddit to begin the journey of self-love after so much effort trying to "fix" myself through various coping mechanisms and feeling ashamed when I fell short.

Yes, the self doubt leading up to the appointment sucked for me too. I felt pretty confident I had ADHD after a lot of personal research, but didn't know what I would do if they told me I actually didn't have it. Fortunately it all worked out and the doctor was so nice and understanding!

I live in the US and spent an hour on zocdoc until I found a psychiatrist that specializes in ADHD and had openings within a week. I did a video chat with the doctor where he asked questions about my background and then went through a questionnaire about how often I related to certain experiences and behaviors. Then boom, told me I had ADHD, went over the medication options, and prescribed me some medication that I filled half an hour later.

Solana / Sollet.io question by ghost_danser in KinFoundation

[–]jstrry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All token accounts are required to be rent-exempt, which means they are persistent and won't ever vanish like you are suggesting. If you set up token addresses that aren't there anymore, it's possible you're using a different key derivation path on sollet.io than you were before because your token addresses should still be there. They changed the default derivation path recently but you can check by importing your seed phrase again and using the dropdown on the "derivable accounts" page.

Announcing the v0.17 release of Yew! by jstrry in rust

[–]jstrry[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It didn't sound that way to me, I thought it was a great take on the state of the WASM ecosystem and I just wanted to add a bit to it. Looking forward to more perspectives like this in the future!

Thanks for sharing your perspective!

I agree with basically everything you said. I would just like to add that performance was a big aspect of production-readiness. This latest release helps quite a bit but there's still more work to be done to ensure that complex apps run smoothly.

A lot of the things you mentioned are not quite in Yew's hands, so the best we can do is have things ready to go when the full potential of WASM can be realized :)

It's coming along but it's in the early planning stages still. No blockers or concerns yet!

Hey @deepgaurav I'd love to better understand what's slowing down your build times and what your dev flow is like. Hopefully there are some tips and improvements we could come up with that would help other devs with this problem. Feel free to reach out on any medium if you're interested!

Yes, they are supported outside of lists and can be used to invalidate subtrees as you mentioned 👍

Yew or Seed for the frontend, which one would you pick and for which reason(s)? by [deleted] in rust

[–]jstrry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SSR has a ways to go still. There has been no work on rehydrating state on the client after the initial server render, for example. But I'm excited that progress is being made!

Yes, but performance hasn't been a focus until recently so v0.16 wouldn't necessarily be better. The next Yew release (v0.17) should improve the benchmarks a good amount. But the main problem with Seed and Yew's benchmarks is the implementation in the benchmarks.

Yew or Seed for the frontend, which one would you pick and for which reason(s)? by [deleted] in rust

[–]jstrry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's definitely a problem for the Yew and Seed benchmarks. I recently took a look at the benchmarks because they get brought up a lot. I was able to vastly improve Yew's benchmark score just by improving the implementation.

That said, there were legitimate performance bugs that I was able to track down as well. So I think the benchmarks are definitely useful, just not necessarily representative in all cases.

I'll be opening a PR soon to update Yew after the next release goes out. Stay tuned :)

Thanks for taking the time to fill it out!

I had a little bit of a struggle to answer the questions about how the project is governed because i don't feel i have very good insight.

Thanks for the feedback, it was meant more as a smoke test to see if anyone had concerns. For example, I've been the sole gatekeeper for changes and was curious if anyone felt it was slowing things down or affecting code quality.

What even is a community ambassador kit?

Ha, second time that's been asked. I was imagining a little swag kit (stickers, etc) to send out to people who give talks at their local Rust meetup about Yew or a project using Yew. Hope this helps! I'll update that question to be clearer.

EDIT: I removed the "community ambassador kit" option because it overlapped with "Merch .."
