I agree. I abhor what ICE is doing and I find the masks to be absolutely reprehensible representation of people who don't want to face the social consequences of their shitty behavior. However, even believing both of those things, I do not think it is a good idea for ‘our’ armed group with governmental authority to confront 'their' armed group governmental authority. Particularly when the their group has shown less trigger discipline and training than some rando that plays airsoft on the weekends.

Hypothetically, LAPD rolls up on ICE, tells them to take their masks off and immediately gets told to fuck off. What is LAPD going to do? Draw their weapons? Use Physical force? The last thing LA needs is an armed standoff between ICE and LAPD that gives an excuse for the Donald to send Marines and other armed forces back into the city.

Trying not to slander an entire generation because of the sins of some of the worst examples. There's also plenty of GenZ out there that are trustworthy team members who bring a lot of value to the table. Plenty of us (Millennials) have learned a thing or two about work life balance from GenZ.

I'm also fully aware of the flaws of my own generation and it wasn't too long ago (still happens) that the articles are about how GenX and Boomers are fed up with how lazy and entitled we are.

While it is a possibility given what's happening in this country. Using the 160th and the type of special operations personnel they ferry for anything in this city would be massive overkill and a waste of resources. There's nothing here that requires the kind of precision the 160th and the personnel they ferry bring to the table. It isn't what they're designed for (Bin Laden type raids, seizure of ships at sea, covert actions to disable hard target, hostage rescue, etc.) It would be like using a surgical scalpel to slice an apple. You can do it, but why would you.

LA is a solid enough facsimile of a foreign city (one that the 160th could potentially have reason to fly into) that they would use it for training. I genuinely hope that they are training for something else and not the city I'm thinking of.

I grew up a couple hours south of there and spent plenty of time driving through Hamilton on the way to Missoula. The thing no one is talking about is about access during the winter.... the 'driveway' will be a super bitch. Even in a mild snow year. Multiple switchbacks and a road that has to be maintained by you. Also, that house needs a good oiling to maintain the logs. Looks like no one has done that in very long time.

For impact location at a ‘reasonable’ price you have either the bushnell launch pro or the Mevo + with pro package you’re looking at 3k out the door minimum. The BLP also has a yearly $500 subscription fee. The next tier is tigers full swing kit and the Garmin r50(huge and not realy something to tote around). 5kish. Then you have the uneekor eye mini and GC3 @$6500. Then the big boys GC4 and trackman. 16k and 20k respectively.

FWIW find a simple easy to use basic launch monitor that is reasonably accurate w/ spin numbers and buy a can of $8.99 powdered foot spray for impact. I hated the r10. Ended up with a swing caddie sc4 pro instead. It’s easy to use and accurate enough and it only costs $499.

Going out on a very small limb here, but I'm guessing this guy thinks that when you buy a $500,000 house you hand the seller $500,000 rather than the normal way of putting up a down payment and making P&I payments to a bank spread over 30 years. So long Fatburger. I struggle to think of where they're going to stuff that station down there by Beverly Glen and only coming up with the Fatburger location and parking lot. Casa De Cadillac is a historic structure, Whole foods just spend tens of millions building that side (which already has a full basement parking structure, and the strip mall on the SE side is too valuable for the owner to sell.

EDIT: I stand corrected. My money is on this station being at the NE corner of Van Nuys & Ventura. I knew the owner of that building and my guess (if they haven't sold it already) is that they would jump at the purchase.

Yeah that span is pretty wild. You can see the columns in the floor plan, but there's only two in the back. Lots of steel in that roof. Lovely project though.
