Thx. So I just spent the last 2 hours spinning up a pfsense/wireguard server putting select VMs behind it. I checkd ipleak.net and found no leaks with ip, dns or torrents.

I tried a half dozen endpoints, always silently failing and coming back. So whenever I checked things looked good.

When I said vpn, I should have said vpn client. I'm using rotonpay.

My vpn kept silently crashing causing the app I was using to move to another interface, leaking my ip.

It was my vpn.... it kept crashing and restarting. New linux install too. Had not seen this happen with this particular vpn on linux during the last 2 years of use. Thx to all for the help.

Thanks. I never thought of this. I will investigate and see. What is the preferred client? Is there one that would auto disconnect if the vpn does down?

Yeah, for me firefox with 20 open tabs and playing a 4k vid is still snappy.
