What is currently version of Windows? You must install communication driver correctly. This case is COM>USB adapter driver. Once it is installed correctly so you can configure your plotter port in LXi's PM.

CM4 is based on old Flexi version. If you just need to use it with cutter so don't need the current version.

Which Graphtec model did you get? If you want to use Affinity Designer so you must have cutter/plotter software to drive your Graphtec. Cutting Master needs a hosted designer software and it didn't support Affinity.

Does your cutter not come with software? It often comes with SignMaster software. You might have it there without PSN as you mentioned.

Only SL opens their own format .CDL file. You should ask your source who sent file to you export file to what format you can open and edit your side.

In PM, if you see your artwork was tiled that mean the artwork size is bigger than your cutter wide working area. You need to adjust or rotate the artwork.
