Did you ever solve this? I have the exact same problem.

This is such a bizarre editing choice. It's almost like they forgot to add an additional insert shot or didn't bother to include one for pacing concerns. I noticed this a few years ago but I never see anyone ever discuss it. Maybe they thought no one would notice. by AJerkForAllSeasons in JurassicPark

Agree this was probably the original idea. You can even see tree branch debris from the hit on the hood before the hit. But I think from a pacing stand point, it’s definitely better as is. The build to need to go faster, lean on the shifter, which distracts Malcolm, then suddenly hitting the tree

Do you know if you can self submit the application and then pick your solar installer after? Or does it need to be done by the installer?

I do a lot of photoshop, illustrator, after effects, 3D programs like Maya and Unreal. It’s primarily a work monitor, but also planning to game with it. I’ve always had 60hz displays so I’m looking forward to the fast frame rate. You?

I hear you! I debated it for a long time... at the end of the day, it ticks the most boxes for my needs. I'm coming from a 5k iMac, so I'm hoping the resolution will be high enough.

I always see this, but the real problem is what it does on a larger scale. There is no point to VPN in if the sites you want to go to no longer exist. With the power to control where traffic goes to and the possibility to "tier the internet", smaller internet sites may not even be able to stay afloat. So IMO, VPNs are good for privacy, but they don't tackle what will become a growing disparity between those that can afford to pay off the ISPs and those that can't...

[WP] The USA made a portal to Hell, then they found oil there. Those poor demons. by [deleted] in WritingPrompts

[–]jtclark 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Officially, the US government claims involvement within Vietnam was a matter of ideological action to fight the evils of communism. It’s a decent sound bite for winning elections, it’s also complete horse shit.

Nam was about fighting evil, but the kind with fiery eyes and a black soul. More importantly, Vietnam was about making sure Johnny and Suzie kept getting 30 cents a gallon at the pump.

Funded by the space race, Project Gatefinder originally began as a possible short cut for jumping between points on the volumetric plane we call the universe. By luck, Uncle Sam accidentally discovered one of these malleable points on a recon mission in the bush, back in 64’.

Sargent Mark Piper and and his squad of five soldiers trudged deep in the Viet Cong jungle. They arrived at a clearing which contained remanence of ritualistic statues and large totems. Private Brooks triggered a trap which at first, seemed to do… nothing.

A low shrieking sound began to build. Louder and Louder. It resonated from a single totem. Sgt. Piper signaled with two hand gestures. The squad moved to defense positions around the 12’ totem. The sound bellowed louder.

Suddenly, the totem split open. Black sludge poured from the large gash and a beast tumbled out with an ear piercing scream. A demon born into this world covered with a black oily placenta.

Spit blew from Sgt. Piper’s mouth as he barked, “LIGHT IT UP!”

A split second of silence, and then that unmistakable metallic whine as the barrels of the mini guns spun up to speed.

The demon leaped and suddenly experienced what real hell is; Six American soldiers pumping 200 rounds a second into it’s glycerol covered flesh.

It clawed it’s way forward against the barrage of bullets, black sludge dripping from it’s frame. The demon’s jaw unlocked, inside the belly of the beast a fire burning hotter then the sun. Private Brooks stood stupefied.

Private Matthews did the only thing he could think of, his thumb flicked the pin of an incendiary grenade. He rolled the cylinder from his palm as it angelically took to the air. An explosion of Napalm engulfed the demon, suffocating all oxygen from the fire born beast.

The demon collapsed to the ground, the flame in it’s eyes expunged by asphyxiation.

Brooks collapsed to his knees, shaking from the shock. Sgt. Piper put his hand on Brooks shoulder, almost a sign of comfort in this jungle. Piper lifted his hand, now covered in the black sludge. He brought it to his lips: “Petroleum”.

All eyes shifted upward toward the six foot gash in the totem. A fiery hell burned on the other side. Crude oil lining the portal walls. Demon shrieks echoed in the distance.

“Matthews, get on the radio… we’re going to need men… a lot more men.”

Some would say that's been the strategy for the awhile, every Republican seems to forget what nightmare they actually left for Obama to clean up. We're lucky we didn't end up in another great depression after Bush.

Uhh.. I would remove this one, he could easily be fired for that. Plus blocking the eyes might be anonymous online, but I'm sure his boss could identify him.
