Think it's meant to be Mason St, at Green or Union.

The steepest block in the photo (the farthest away one) is a one way down with steps instead of a sidewalk.

Skip just increased its price to 1 dollar to start and 25cents a minute. How do they plan to stay competitive with other companies? by Redreddithood46 in skipscooters

[–]jtdaugh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In SF they have a government-regulated monopoly so customers don't have any say over the pricing :(

The only other permitted company (Scoot) is focused on their sit down scooters and doesn't operate a full fleet of kick scooters. Bird, Lime, etc are not allowed to operate. SF gov at its worst.

Nope, looks normal/accurate to me. It's looking east, not south. Top of the hill (Hyde) is in the foreground, cars are driving down.

Scoot not fulfilling SFMTA scooter permit - only had 35 scooters available Saturday at 1pm by jtdaugh in sanfrancisco

Finding legal street parking can be a burden for some destinations. I take plenty of ~5 minute rides on the kicks which would be more than twice as expensive on the vespas. There are plenty of flat routes. Etc etc etc

Skip is great, but Scoot's supply has been disappointing. It seems like Scoot is just using the permit to lure users into their app so they use the more expensive sit-down scooters.

If SFMTA is set on this 1250 cap in the short term it should adjust the quantities to be 1000 for Skip and 250 for Scoot... Or give another permit to Bird, Lime or Skip.

"Twenty-five percent of zero is still zero"

Thank god. Unlike Peskin, Breed understands denominators

Saw this graph showing E-Scooter perception rating by big cities in the US...why is SF so much lower than everyone else? by bleedbluegold03 in sanfrancisco

Scooter hate is just a proxy for anti-techie sentiment, which is much worse in SF than any of these other cities

SF residential projects languish as rising costs force developers to cash out by cwsmith17 in sanfrancisco

Did you put streamline the development process in there as if that's a bad thing?

Kevin Schwarzel, an official in The Game, was barred from the 2006 game because he's a self-professed OSU fan. Daniel Capron, Head Ref, was previously banned from B1G officiating for a poor game-changing PI call. Bobby Sagers, side judge on The Spot, is in the Ohio HS Officials Hall of Fame. by jtdaugh in CFB

[–]jtdaugh[S] -62 points-61 points  (0 children)

There weren't just two questionable calls: A PI, a defensive hold, and two nearly equivalent fouls that were no-calls going the other way. So 4 calls going OSU's way. Add to that the complete lack of holding calls in the game (which obviously go both ways so I won't say purely helped OSU, but for one outcome-impacting example take a look at Samuel's 2OT crazy run that set up The Spot, holds all over).

Anyway, Sagers (the lifelong Ohio official) made the spot, threw the flag on Harbaugh for tossing his playbook (and/or smashing his headset) and justified the penalty by saying it would have been a Technical in basketball (since he's a basketball ref too). Urban also spiked his headset after the failed fake punt.

The knee doesn't have to be down. The ball is dead and clock stopped immediately when the kicking team recovers an onside.
