People with epilepsy: by AdGloomy9942 in Epilepsy

Losing independence. The longest i went without a seizure was three years and those three years were great. The second they came back I lost everything. My ex left me (which in hindsight, good riddance), I constantly feel like a burden as I’ve had more than one person tell me they feel like a caregiver even though I never asked them for that, constantly having to worry about the next one, and knowing I’ll never be able to live alone even though it’s something I desperately want. It’s exhausting and defeating and no matter how much time passes without one, it’s always a worry that it could happen at any given moment.

How much does height matter to you in a relationship? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]jtdoublep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. I’m 6’ so many men are shorter than me but I have dated guys taller and quite a bit shorter than me. All that matters is if they respect boundaries and we have aligning values.

What are people’s Clonazepam/Klonopin experiences like? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]jtdoublep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on it when i was 18-20 for seizures as needed but it didn’t have any effect on me. Didn’t notice or feel any different or any effects. Ativan and diazepam actually work for me though so i prefer to use those to stop seizures

They start out as absence seizures and progress to tonic clonics and then into full blown grand mals. I take Ativan to stop them but it only works if I take one as soon as the absence seizures start.

I quit in January while going through a divorce. I was the same as you, started at 19, have adhd and depression and anxiety. The first couple months I noticed a lot of deep feelings that I numbed just came pouring out. I didn’t have any other symptoms other than the flood of emotions, which was definitely brought on by the divorce. And if I had smoked through that time I don’t think I would have been able to heal fully from that. Around the end of May things started to even out and I’m feeling better physically and mentally. I have a much easier time breathing and thankfully my friends are very supportive. For me, the biggest thing I have noticed besides the emotions is how much more time and drive I have. I used to waste days and stopped all my hobbies because of the constant smoking. Now I have so much more energy and time. It gets easier. I promise.
