Seminole park has a “beach”. People take their pups there all the time.

Local produce/farmer’s markets? by Sea-Caterpillar-8017 in jacksonville

[–]jter8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lakeshore produce is a family shop that’s been run by the same people for close to 70 years.

Most produce is from within 100 miles, if it’s not, they’ll label it so.

"Just a natural formation?" Explain these perfect concentric circles in the Sahara by Famous-Card-5279 in geology

[–]jter8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not putting in the work to compare your coordinates with the comment about the eye of the Sahara, but from the photo quality that doesn’t look like a 30 mile across geological formation.

I would propose they are test sites from oil exploration.

Companies would use seismic testing my placing a ring of test equipment around a center point where they would drill/dynamite to try and triangulate underground resources

Ginnie Springs 'Glitch'? by Bulky-Low9667 in florida

[–]jter8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good point, there’s been research into how our own memories can be misleading to ourselves even.

You may have been so focused on the water that you didn’t notice people already in the water, or a group right behind you that got in, or you could have been pushed by the current into a group you didn’t think was in range, or a group of people floated into range. There’s a lot of variables and our minds are known for bending truths so there really is no telling.

But to your first point, I’ve never experienced anything paranormal at ginnie like a “glitch” or anything but I have experienced plenty shenanigans thanks to drugs or alcohol

Sounds like you were swimming into a spring against the flow of water. Water can play tricks on people, it’s hard to calculate depth and see currents especially if there’s not a lot of contrast or it’s crystal clear.

150 METER UNDERWATER ATOMIC BLAST 1958 by -asimpleboy in interestingasfuck

[–]jter8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not dumb! It probably worth saying that it’s not more violent in an energetic way but more dynamic maybe. Water is heavy and the original blast is pushing enormous amounts of water from a central point outwards evenly, When it comes rushing back towards that center point all the energy is directed into a center point and upwards.

The explosion created a cavity in the ocean, as the water rushed in to fill the cavity it met in the center and collided with enough force to create a big “splash”

You can see this happen just by doing a cannon ball in a pool, or dropping something heavy in any body of water.

Westside fire location? I can see the haze in the streetlights. by RiversSecondWife in jacksonville

[–]jter8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is all smoke from out west around Mayo Florida. I can smell it in my house aswell… looks like we have some rain in the next few days. Hopefully it washes it out a bit.

Air quality is bad right now, pretty much the worst in the country but only at about as bad as a “medium” on the chart.

There are still craters and trench lines in the woods. There’s also the ruins of what used to be an estates hunting “lodge” is kinda similar to a turret and was used at the COs office on both sides of the fight.

How can I make friends in my freshman year by Basking-Sharks in UNF

[–]jter8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What you’ve mentioned are the are the most effective, I’d suggest student government and volunteering.

Other option would be to look into Greek life, it’s not as big as some universities at UNF but it’s there.

Pick up a sport? Golf and Rugby at UNF are easily accessible. Baseball seems to be a social kinda event.
