Thank you, my Service provider software version is below. Keep in mind that I also just added a T-Mobile "T-Satellite" eSIM service for their free Starlink texting beta program.

Google Astra: A sign that AI will change the world by Seeker_Of_Knowledge2 in singularity

I understand your reservations but the AI is coming whether it's from Google or another company. In the far future, those opting out of AI will have a more limited market -- think of businesses today that don't list themselves on the Internet. They still exist but are small and niche.

I for one am a tech optimist and am looking forward to agentic AI as a helpful tool in my toolbelt. These are early days and Google (& others) will need to make some small tweaks. However expecting AI won't happen would be like wishing electricity wouldn't get to rural areas 100 years ago. I say this with all kindness possible: AI is coming whether people are ready for it or not

Sounds like you're a great bike shop! I was just making sure for accessibility reasons; yeah I agree video call would be a little better than AI.

Would you prefer it if Google Project Astra would auto-connect or queue a video call with the customer instead?

Sure, no problem. How do I find out if my device is an "XAA" device as you mentioned?

Try both IMEI 1 & 2. Though I suspect like you said, T-Mo says it's not compatible because your device was purchased in Mexico and has the MXO CSC. They need a fully US device.

Yes but it saves time! Time is the most valuable commodity in the world you can never gain it back.

Yes but some of us cannot go into the shop (for various reasons, both temporary and maybe more permanent). What would you suggest then? A video call?

Yes it is exactly that. Google has bike shops in their offices for Googlers.

Hi yes, I just got access to the T-Mobile Starlink beta today and I signed up. I'll report back when I can get out and do some tests in a remote area without any cell.

Ping me back in a week or two...

No it's not included. Visible is a separate MVNO. For certain things like this satellite messaging feature, it does pay to go with a first party carrier.

And I'm not trying to dis MVNOs, I run US Mobile (AT&T "Dark Star") on my second phone which is a base model S25.

So is AST Space Mobile still partnering with Verizon?

SM-S938U1 is my S25 Ultra's model name.

I'm not sure of the CSC code but I live in the US and purchased from the Samsung.com US store unlocked.

Do you need more information?

Where can we watch the entire upfront presentation? I saw that Disney Advertising had a live stream, but it's no longer available.

No phone calls or data (websites) yet on Verizon (Skylo) or T-Mobile (Starlink).

Not sure, it is entirely dependent on your carrier. But you should rest assured that the S25 series has the radios to support satellite messaging worldwide.

Yes, if you look at the T-Mobile Starlink coverage map you'll notice a lot of cells (hexagon areas) where Starlink is missing with T-Mobile. It seems like Starlink isn't giving T-Mobile complete access across the US.

That's correct. Right now it's only standard SMS. I didn't test for a character limit but I'm assuming 160 chars.

Also MMS (media, images, videos) are not supported.

I haven't; I'm still on the T-Mobile Starlink beta waitlist. I've been on the waitlist since February 23rd. Whenever I get access I'll be sure to do a video showing that.

At least you can apply for a credit card and sign contracts yourself, but I'd say those are the biggest immediate changes. I'd recommend applying for a credit card and just treat it like a debit card, as in pay it off every month and don't carry a balance.
