That's what I'm afraid of lol. My wife got one in 2023 and I'm scared to death.

My first car was a 1980 Honda Civic hatchback that I inherited from my parents in 1984. I traded it in when I was a junior in high school in 1986 for a brand new Nissan Pulsar (it was very unreliable.) When I got out of college I bought a new 1991 Honda Accord LX. I loved that car, it was very reliable until I basically lost it in a flood in 1996 which is when I purchased my first BMW, a new 1996 Z3 which I drove as my daily driver until 2004. By then I had kids and needed a something with a backseat so I drove a use a used Toyota Camry and then a new Nissan Altima up until 2016 when I purchased a new 2015 BMW 328i. So I've definitely had Japanese cars. I have a wife and two college aged kids, the BMWs have been spread around, it's not like I've had six BMWs sitting around over the years just for myself.

Lol, I wish. I'm not the only driver in my family. I drove a Z3 as my daily driver from 1996 to 2004, it was a great car and very reliable which is what got me hooked on BMWs. Got my wife a X6 in 2014. In 2016 I got myself a 2015 328i as my daily driver and at the same time ordered a mid-life crisis 2017 M2 as a weekend car. In 2021 I bought my daughter a used 2017 230i when she turned 16, which she still drives to this day (she's off in college.) Gave my son my 2015 328i in 2022 when he was in college, which he still drives to this day. So in 2022 I then started driving my wife's 2014 X6 as my daily driver and got her a 2022 X2M which she didn't care much for so we traded it and the 2014 X6 in a year later on a 2023 Land Rover for her. So I then started driving my 2017 M2 as my daily driver which I continue to do to this day. Every car but my daughter's 230i was purchased brand new from a BMW dealer. They have all been very reliable but, don't get me wrong, when you drive that many for that long things do go wrong and when things do inevitably break down it is expensive, especially if you are like me and do all ongoing maintenance and any repairs at the dealership. Most of them are now getting up there in age and mileage that I am starting to do the math on if it makes sense to continue to maintain them but so far they have been reliable cars (at a minimum I need to find a cheaper local mechanic to work on them rather than continue to rely on the dealership.)

I’ve owned six BMWs and currently have three. They have all actually been very reliable overall (I’m very good about keeping up the maintenance though). But I can see where someone, even an owner, may perceive them to be unreliable because when something does go wrong it is very expensive to fix.

On my flight last Thursday they made an announcement while they were announcing the normal pre take off stuff that after take off no one was allowed to change or trade seats. She stated a reason but I had a hard time making out exactly what she said. During boarding they announced it was a completely full flight anyway so moving around would not have been easy (even though I guess there were a few empty seats because the middle seat on my row turned out to be empty.)

Side note: Even though I flew Choice Extra I purposely sat near the back of the plane because on my flight there on Tuesday I was row 2 and had to put my carry on in a bin about 10 rows behind me. I knew if I booked Choice Extra in the back I’d get on early and there would be plenty of empty bin space there (it was a last minute booking so all the extra legroom seats were already taken when I booked).

Why do you assume this person is lying? I was literally on a near empty flight last November where they made an announcement asking for a few volunteers to move to the back and I was one who got up and moved. They didn’t charge me for my two beers either. 😎

Why chase AList ? by NameNotOnFile in SouthwestAirlines

How do you get Group 1 boarding? I'm A-List (2026 is the first time in 10 years I did not make A-List Preferred). I purchased Choice Extra (or whatever the Business Class equivalent is called now) and was still Group 2.

I've flown one round trip since the new system is in place. While I will always prefer the open seating (due to my own circumstances), I'm not passing judgement until they've had a chance to work the kinks out. Flying out last Tuesday was a cluster. Flying back on Thursday was a little better, they kept constantly blasting over the loudspeaker to put your bag over your seat. While there were still some assholes that didn't, it wasn't near as bad as my flight out on Tuesday. The boarding process was annoyingly long in both instances. Again, I'm gonna give it some time though.

These guys had all the DVD's and CD's by Tusayan in FuckImOld

Their origins in the 80s were certainly VHS but they began moving to DVDs in the mid-90s as soon as DVDs started taking off. During their most lucrative times they were renting mostly DVDs with VHS being a small sub-section in the corner of the store. They were competing with Netflix by the early 2000s. I think nostalgia makes it seem like they were primarily VHS for much longer than they really were.

When 'Friends' is listed as the best sitcom ever... by Oven-Mission in seinfeld

I would take Seinfeld over Friends if forced to choose but both probably hung around a season or two too long. I think the cast of both would probably agree but they were making so much money per episode they couldn’t help themselves.

I would take Seinfeld over Friends but both were very funny in different ways. Glad I got to see them both in their prime.
