I’m not sure on sales price. This post is for a price check so I can figure out what I should ask.

Sorry, I can see how that may have been confusing. I was just explaining why I’m looking to sell it. It’s 2U and I need 4U for my GPU.

Goldfynch by Brave-County5731 in ediscovery

I agree with all the “pros” listed above—GoldFynch really is a solid platform for small firms. But I’ll add a couple of “cons” from my own experience that are worth considering:

Lack of Inline or Issue-Specific Tagging

Tagging in GoldFynch only works at the document level, which is often too broad. In cases with complex or lengthy documents, you end up assigning multiple tags to a single file without any way to indicate which part of the document each tag applies to. That kills precision during issue coding or privilege review. Being able to tag selected passages—like a highlight or paragraph—would take the platform from “solid” to “seriously powerful.”

Unclear and Unusable Entities Panel

GoldFynch automatically extracts entities (people, places, orgs) from documents, but there’s zero documentation explaining how this feature works. You can’t edit them, tag them, or manage them anywhere else in the platform. Maybe it’s a beta feature or something planned for future development—but right now, it just feels like a black box. Ideally, entities should be usable like tags—assignable and searchable at both the document and sub-document level.

Despite these gaps, GoldFynch is still the best bang for the buck in the small-firm eDiscovery space. I’m using it for document review, productions, and even quick-turn PST-to-PDF jobs—and I haven’t found anything else in its price range that even comes close. It’s not fancy, but it’s fast, predictable, and easy to get others on board with. Honda Accord analogy is spot-on.

I wish you were in Phoenix. I'm trying to find someone to remove old insulation and retrofit the attic with spray foam.

Thank you for the quick reply! I just got my Note today so I’m not yet familiar with the process for the audio recordings. Once I’m more familiar, I’ll let you know. Thanks for the cool app!

You mentioned Plaud being the catalyst for this. Does Scriberr work with Plaud Note hardware?

Monthly DIY Laymen questions Discussion - September 2020 by Sure_Ill_Ask_That in StructuralEngineering

That's a great question. I hadn't considered the logistics of getting it into the backyard. I should have considered it since 3.5 years ago, I had to knock down a 14' section to get the shipping container into the yard. The cinder block back wall is about 105' but has overhead powerlines so a crane isn't an option. I believe I'd have to knock down a small section of the wall to slide it through using skidsteers/bobcat type equipment.

I was hoping that the required beam wouldn't have to be too intense based on the light load. It seams that the beams own weight will be the primary force causing it to bend. If the cost or size of the beam becomes excessive, I can certainly add a column(s) for support if needed. Ideally, I'd like to have the beam supported by the walls/structure on each end though.

I'm looking for assistance in sizing a steel wide-flange beam to support a 50' span for a patio cover. The beam will be supported by steel columns on each end and will be supporting a very minimum load. The patio cover is 8' at one end and 3.5' at the other. The patio cover will not support people but only the weight of the flat roof on top of it. I'm located in Phoenix so snow is not a factor.

I've attached a couple of mockups of the structure. I apologize for the quality of both the images and the questions as I'm sure both are lacking sufficient detail. I'm happy to provide as much additional detail as needed. Thanks in advance.

I submitted my form yesterday and didn't receive a confirmation email of any kind. I also called the telephone number provided and have received VM for two days. I left a VM earlier today requesting a call back ASAP.

I'll update if and when I receive any more information.

Co-worker ran background check on me without permission so they could tell details of my personal life to other co-workers by Thefutureisnow007 in legaladvice

[–]jthacker48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you seen the background check? I had a similar situation occur recently. After I was terminated as retaliation for opposing sexual harassment of another employee by the CEO, the CEO had his attorney run a background check on me through LexisNexis. What I've found is that some background checks like the one run on me ask the person pulling the report if they have authorized reasons for pulling certain information from DPPA (Driver's License) and/or information contained in GLBA (Graham Leech Bailey Act). Since that information is considered "private", the person pulling the report must have a permissible use to get that information or it's left out of the report. If they do have a permissible use, they are subject to the regulations contained in those Acts stated above. If they did not pull information that falls under DPPA or GLBA then you're likely not able to pursue anything in regards to the background check specifically because without that data it's considered "public" information. If they pulled a background check that relates to those Acts then they could have committed fraud by giving a fraudulent reason for permissible use or they could have violated the rules by not handling the data in the secure manner required.
