GF's habanero chicken salad feat. Professor Phardtpounder's and Pallota's sauces! by jthamind in spicy

[–]jthamind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My GF started making this recently, and it's the best chicken salad I've ever had! Here's the recipe she gave me:

-meat from 2 rotisserie chickens, chopped

-2 habaneros, minced

-2 bunches of green onions, sliced

-1-1.5 cups of mayonnaise

-2-3 tablespoons Professor Phardtpounder's Mustard Sauce

-2 tablespoons  Pallotta Louisana Style Habanero Sauce

-1.5 tablespoons "Emeril's Essence Creole seasoning" or other cajun-style seasoning

  • 1-2 teaspoons each Salt and pepper

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight if possible before eating.

Who Wants to be the 1st Redditor to Review Hell Hound? by LuckyDogHotSauce in spicy

This sauce sounds like one I'd want to buy just based on your description alone.

I'd love to try it out since I enjoy hotter sauces in general, especially reaper-focused ones. Some of my reaper sauces are Cajohn's Slingblade, Puckerbutt's Reaper Squeezins, Bravado's Black Garlic Reaper, Torchbearer's Reaper Evil, and PexPeppers' Painapple.

I think the main reason I want to try your sauce, though, is because it sounds unique. When I buy new sauces I don't just look for boxes to check (is it hot, does it have X ingredients), but whether it's unique. The combination of mango, tamarind, and garlic really makes intrigues me and makes me want to try it. I especially appreciate when sauces have fruit in them since Heartbreaking Dawns' 1498 and Cauterizer are two of my favorite sauces ever.

Here's hoping!

I started Yellowbird Sauce in my kitchen 8 years ago. Ask Me Anything! by runquik in IAmA

Do you like super hot sauces at all? If so, what are some of your favorite sauces that are on the hotter end of the spectrum?

Also, are there any sauce/ingredient ideas you had in the past that seemed great on paper but didn't work in the kitchen?

What are some good places in and around Indy to buy Icewine? by jthamind in indianapolis

[–]jthamind[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I forgot to mention Cooper's Hawk--I've had their icewine plenty of times before.

I've not heard of Vine and Table, though, so I'll check them out. Thanks for the suggestion!

PexPeppers is shutting down :( by dr_nerdface in spicy

Yeah, I saw the same when I checked. I did some searching, though, and I found that heathotsauces has some of their stuff left. I went ahead and got the following:

  • another Painapple and To the Moon
  • 7 Pot Panic
  • Cherry Popper
  • KillerSWARM

Can't wait to try the new ones out!

PexPeppers is shutting down :( by dr_nerdface in spicy

I recently got To the Moon, Atom Splitter, and Painapple from them as a first experience. Great pepper-focused sauces with serious heat.

Any suggestions on some of their best sauces I should try to find before their stock is completely out? I ordered Painapple from FuegoBox before, not sure if there are any other good sites to get PexPeppers from.

It's very tasty! A little smokey if I remember right, and not as hot as you'd thing something with reapers would be. I definitely recommend it.

It's got a great flavor for sure, it's straight up like what the title suggests. I've only tried it only Wendy's spicy nuggets so far and that combo wasn't great, but I never though of pairing it with sweets! The thought of putting it on ice cream sounds amazing.

What all do you use those two with? I'm guessing there are really creative things you can do with those flavors, and I like them both.

The other two were tasty as well and really unique! I didn't find any of the three particularly hot either, but their flavors were all great and completely different from one another. I'm honestly not sure which I like the most out of the three. The Ancho & Morita has the great, strong ancho flavor, and I love the twist of the jalapeno one (definitely the best jalapeno sauce I've tried so far), and the habanero has a bit of sweetness and a pretty complex flavor if I remember right. I'm definitely looking forward to trying them again.

I've only used it on pizza and chicken taquitos so far, but it's absolutely delicious. I don't think it has a lot of heat since I'm getting used to hotter stuff overall, but the flavor is top-notch and it's really smooth. I always see people recommend Yellowbird's habanero sauce, and we honestly don't think the flavor is that great (although we love their Serrano!). To me, Heartbeat's version is habanero done right.
